Arthur, a seven-month-old kitten, suffered from a severe case of cat flu: he had bouts of sneezing and struggled to breathe normally. He also had a distended belly. As a result, we wormed him and provided treatments to alleviate his symptoms.
Even though cat flu can go dormant, he will remain a carrier for his entire life. Any slight weakness could potentially trigger a return of his symptoms...
Canned food enriched with proteins and vitamins would help Arthur to replenish his energy. It would also be an effective way to administer his cat flu medication. Having access to such superior food every day would contribute to his overall stabilisation, thus preventing the virus from recurring too frequently.
At present, we are dealing with an inundation and overwhelmed with more than 250 cats in our care.
A significant number of juniors and kittens have arrived on site since this summer, which equates to more mouths to feed. Caring for them has become a substantial challenge, with soaring prices and stagnant donations!
