Once kept in a cage and then chained, Prune had her windpipe completely crushed!

1. She has suffered mistreatment…

Prune is a 12-year-old dog, who has been shut up in a rabbit hutch for half of her life. She then ended up being chained up and severely injured her windpipe. Today, the poor dog has significant trouble swallowing…

2. She has a parasitic disease!

Prune has just been diagnosed with leishmaniasis, a disease due to the presence of parasites in her body. Since this disease can be fatal and given Prune had lost a great deal of weight, we had to initiate intensive treatment to help her recover.

3. Canned food could support her through this difficult period

By meeting Prune's specific nutritional needs, canned food could help bolster her weakened immune system.

Their soft and moist texture would enable her to take her medicine without causing pain to her windpipe. The appealing taste of the food would also encourage her to eat regularly, to gradually regain the weight she lost.

4. The year is ending as badly as it began…

As the year draws to a close, our difficulties are mounting: waves of cold weather, shortage of donations, nearly futile shopping cart operations... We are now at such a point that we do not know whether we can continue!

However, we have to carry on, as we have welcomed new animals from other shelters that have shut their doors. We cannot let down the 97 dogs who are relying on us!
