Suffering from a calicivirus, Carotte is finding it increasingly difficult to eat...

1. He is suffering from a calicivirus that is not clearing up…

Carotte is a roughly nine-year-old cat afflicted by calicivirus. An inflammation inside his mouth causes him to drool and impedes him from eating properly. His gums are also painful.

He has difficulty eating, as some of his teeth have been pulled out in the past to alleviate him. According to the vet, more teeth will need to be removed soon. Moreover, we have anti-inflammatory medication to administer to him.

2. Canned food could rejuvenate his energy more effectively

To eat despite the missing teeth, Carotte will need canned food. This would provide him with a daily replenishment of protein, without the need to chew. It would also simplify the process of giving him his medication, thus increasing the chances of his symptoms easing.

3. We are running out…!

We're down to the last of our canned food supplies. The situation is becoming critical for feeding the hundred or so stray cats that rely on us, especially those with health problems.

Between high veterinary bills and donations that continue to be too small, we don’t have the means to purchase suitable food for them!
