Animal Webaction visited the site 13 April 2024 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Rokaya is almost out of kibble to feed the 174 dogs at her shelter. They will starve if no one helps!

"I'm almost out of kibble for the 174 dogs in my shelter. For a week now, I've been forced to reduce their portions. It's a distressing situation, the likes of which I've never experienced before. The economic crisis that has hit the country, the rise in prices, the drop in donations... all this has led us to this critical situation.

The effects of this shortage are already being felt: the dogs aren't getting enough to eat, tensions are rising and fights are breaking out more often. I'm helpless in the face of their distress; their hungry stares break my heart!

Without this kibble delivery, I know the situation will only get worse. It's a nightmare waiting to happen if this campaign fails!"

2. Without kibble, the dogs will become sick and violent; the weakest ones won't make it!

"If I do not receive kibble quickly, the situation will become catastrophic... The health of those in my care will inevitably deteriorate, malnutrition will weaken them, making them vulnerable to diseases.

Fights, already frequent, will become more violent, causing serious injuries... and without possible care, as the veterinary station refuses to treat them until our debts are settled! I can't bear to see my dogs weaken or fight. They've already suffered so much...

And the worst thing is, they're far from being the only ones: every day, I receive calls for help from abandoned, abused or stray dogs. They all deserve a chance at love, safety and a dignified life. But without kibble, I won't be able to save them, I won't be able to do anything for them... "

3. Rokaya repeatedly calls for help to obtain kibble, but fails: she no longer knows how to feed her dogs!

"I've tried everything to get help. I've contacted countless associations, local businesses, individuals; I've launched appeals for donations on social media... but nothing helps. Donations are rare, insufficient to cover our needs.

Most people don't realize the extent of the crisis we're going through. Animal welfare is of little interest to many here, and the few charitable souls are themselves affected by the economic crisis.

Each rejection, each door that closes, is a blow. I feel so helpless in the face of all this... Yet I cannot afford to give up. All these dogs are counting on me, on us, to survive!"

4. Rokaya isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

"Kibble is my absolute priority, the crux of the matter. Without it, everything falls apart! I can no longer take in new dogs, I can no longer care for the sick, I can no longer offer them the bare minimum. My actions are paralyzed, my impact reduced to nothing. Stray, abandoned, and abused dogs have no hope of finding refuge...

Everything stems from this kibble: its absence affects the dogs' behavior, their health, their potential adoption, and our ability to function as a shelter.

I desperately need your help to continue this mission and offer a second chance to these dogs who deserve so much love and care. Without kibble, it's an entire network of solidarity collapses, an entire fight that dies out..."

5. In a world often indifferent to the plight of animals, Rokaya continues to fight for those she considers her family.

"I lead this fight with passion, but also with profound loneliness. Few people here care about the fate of animals... it's a sad reality. Indifference, even cruelty towards them, is commonplace. Seeing so many animals suffer makes me very sad.

Yet, these animals have transformed my life. They surround me, at the shelter and at home, filling my days with unconditional love. It's exhausting, of course, I don't have a minute to myself, I'm constantly on alert, but I regret nothing.

When I see a rescued dog rediscover the joy of living, when I receive a message of support, and when I feel that my actions have an impact, then all the fatigue disappears and I know that I am in my rightful place, here, with them!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Rokaya will not receive any money but 2500 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistics centre in Morocco which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble throughout the country.

7. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail...

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

8. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving in the street!

If you know of a foundation or NGO that could help Rokaya, please invite them to contact us so that we can put them in touch.
