With a fractured jaw, extreme thinness, and Cushing's disease, poor Fidji was headed for the slaughterhouse with all her health problems!

1. She was injured, in critical condition!

Fidji is a 32-year-old pony that we saved from slaughter. When we took her in, her jaw was broken and she was terrifyingly emaciated!

2. She has Cushings disease...

Fidji has a hormonal disease, which causes her several problems. Her coat is rough, she suffers from laminitis and abscesses and she has balance disorders. Thus, we need to give her a treatment to help her stabilise.

3. Her teeth are heavily worn!

Over time, Fidji's teeth have become so worn that they no longer allow her to chew. She perpetually spits out grass and hay!

4. Pellets would help her recover healthily

Once moistened, the pellets would be the easiest feed for Fidji to ingest. With such complete and balanced food, she could regain better shape and continue to regain her health. It would also be an effective way to control some symptoms of her disease.

5. Without help, the shelter risks closing its doors...

Financially speaking, we are going through a very difficult time. Our budget is suffering, while we have about twenty horses to care for at the shelter.

If we can't quickly find solutions, we will be forced to shut down. Help us get back on our feet!
