1. He is very sensitive to the cold, as he doesn’t have a winter coat...

Sano is a 22-year-old horse, retired from horse racing, currently under our care. He has a characteristic that does not work in his favour during the cold season; he does not develop a winter coat. Therefore, he is more vulnerable to low temperatures and requires specific care in the colder months.

2. His teeth are severely damaged!

Sano's teeth are in bad condition, which is a common issue in older horses. This dental wear affects his ability to eat properly, so we need to monitor him closely and adjust his diet accordingly.

3. Pellets would help him gain weight

Pellets would provide a tailored nutritional solution for Sano's worn teeth, making it easier for him to chew and digest.

Packed with essential nutrients, they would allow him to benefit from all the necessary intake to keep fit, despite his inability to develop a winter coat. Moreover, their easy-to-eat format would help him maintain his weight and keep in good physical condition.

4. The cold weather has worsened our already difficult situation...

With the onset of severe cold weather, we have faced major challenges. Most of our animals are ageing and have been weakened by the temperatures. Pellets would allow us to supplement them and perk them up!

Funding their care and custody unfortunately does not leave us with enough budget to buy pellets. That’s why we are appealing for your help!
