"The stock of kibble is almost empty; we barely have enough to last 4 days! I had to drastically reduce the portions for the dogs at the shelter. As a result, several of them have developed deficiencies and diseases related to malnutrition...
We can no longer take in new dogs at the shelter either. Yet, the cries for help keep coming! Having to refuse to help these poor animals in distress is truly heartbreaking. The stress is crushing me, I am at my wits' end..."
"My shelter takes in many disabled, sick, or elderly dogs. We also have anemic dogs and survivors of abuse... Without kibble, their already precarious condition will deteriorate rapidly!
Their immune defenses will drop, and they will catch every possible disease and infection. How many of them will be able to survive? This question keeps looping in my mind..."
"Our treasury is empty. We already have huge debts with the veterinarian and our kibble supplier, who now refuses to give us credit. The last fundraising campaign we launched only raised a tiny fraction of the necessary donations, barely 15%... People can't help like they used to.
I tried negotiating payment delays, leveraging my connections, but nothing works: without money, no one wants to give us kibble anymore. I have exhausted all my savings, but it's not enough... I've used up all my savings, and because of the stress and my back and health problems, I can't even work outside the shelter like I used to. As a result, I have no resources of my own either!
I feel so powerless. After all these efforts, all these sacrifices, seeing the dogs threatened by malnutrition is the worst defeat!"
"Our absolute priority right now is to urgently obtain kibble. It's the key to everything: without kibble, we can no longer feed the dogs or provide the care they need to stay healthy. Everything starts with food; it's the foundation!
Kibble is not just one need among others, just another expense: for us, it is the sine qua non condition for the survival of the dogs. Everything else - veterinary care, housing, socialization - flows from this primary necessity of feeding them properly.
Without kibble, we simply won't be able to fulfill our mission of animal protection. It's as simple and as dramatic as that."
"My fight to help stray and abused dogs has become the core of my life, my reason for being. I devote myself body and soul to this cause, giving it all my time, all my energy, without counting the cost.
Day after day, I face heartbreaking situations, injured, starving, rejected dogs... Their suffering moves me deeply. I often feel alone in the face of the enormity of the task, in a country where the fate of animals often remains a secondary concern...
In our situation, every donation, every gesture of solidarity from people sensitive to their cause is a breath of fresh air! It's what allows us to keep fighting for them, despite the exhaustion."
