1. In Morocco, Hajar has run out of kibble to feed the hundreds of cats she cares for in her shelter and on the streets. They will starve if no one intervenes!
"I have no more kibble. For two weeks, I've only been able to give small amounts of leftover food to the 130 cats in my shelter. And on the streets, I can no longer distribute anything to the other 140 cats who rely on me...
There has been a glaring lack of donations in recent months. People are increasingly reluctant to give. I've also had to deal with unexpected expenses to treat several sick cats. I'm out of funds, and unable to buy more kibble.
The cats have lost a worrying amount of weight and some are developing malnutrition-related diseases. Only this campaign can allow us to change the situation... It's urgent!"
2. Exposed to hunger, disease and accidents, street cats' days are numbered if Hajar doesn't get some kibble!
"The situation will very quickly become worrying without new kibble. Without my street distributions, the cats face all kinds of dangers: they wander everywhere looking for something to eat, exposed to cars, malicious humans and the worst health risks. Hunger, dehydration, poisoning... The worst part is that I can no longer even take them into the shelter!
At the shelter, cats are losing weight. Any infection will become a threat in these conditions! I'm afraid they won't have the strength to last much longer...
This situation saddens me, but I'm totally helpless without kibble... Things will quickly become critical if this campaign fails. The cats don't have the luxury of waiting!"
3. Donations are too low: Hajar can't pay off her debts or buy more kibble!
"Despite all my efforts, the financial situation is more than strained. I owe large sums to the veterinary clinic and the kibble supplier.
I've multiplied calls for donations on social media, organized sales of old objects... But the results are far too small to pay off my debts and restock the kibble supply. I even begged the city hall to give us a financial helping hand. In vain!
I feel helpless and alone in this mess. People don't realize how vital their help is for us. How many lives depend on it..."
4. Hajar isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the cats from starving.
"If I have kibble, I can ensure regular distributions to the street cats. I can gain their trust, make contact with them. It's the only way to then treat them, sterilize them and identify them.
At the shelter, kibble allows me to establish balanced rations according to each one's specific needs. It also allows me to stabilize new arrivals who are weakened, a crucial first step towards their recovery.
Kibble is the foundation for everything else. Before I can provide care, comfort and even a loving home, I must first be able to meet this primary need of feeding them! It's the basis of all my work in the field."
5. Hajar has chosen to dedicate her life to the welfare of abandoned animals in her region, despite the difficulties.
"Saving these animals is my life, my reason for being. I've given up everything for them: family, friends, hobbies... Nothing else matters but their well-being.
Of course, it's a constant battle. Exhausting, sometimes discouraging, with these never-ending challenges to face. The lack of means, the loneliness, the responsibility... Some days, I just want to give up everything.
I draw my strength from the little daily joys. A purr, a grateful look, it may not seem like much but it sustains me. In this country, stray animals are really misunderstood. So every life I manage to save is a victory!"
