Animal Webaction visited the site 09 June 2024 and confirms the situation described below.
"The last bags of kibble are almost empty. For ten days, I've been forced to reduce portions at the shelter. My heart tightens at every meal. The dogs fight over the few pieces of kibble: they growl, bare their teeth...
New rescues are also impossible, due to lack of means to feed them. The situation is critical, I don't know who to turn to anymore! I sincerely hope this campaign will bring us the help we need. Without this kibble, the worst is yet to come..."
"If this campaign fails, the consequences will be dramatic for my dogs. For now, they squabble at mealtimes; I can still contain them.
But they live in a group, so without kibble, the situation will quickly become uncontrollable... I won't be able to leave them locked in the shelter if I have nothing to feed them!
I'm terrified at the idea of having to release the dogs onto the streets. They are my babies, I swore to protect them. The shelter is their only chance of survival, just like this kibble..."
"The situation of the association is more than precarious. In addition to the accumulated debts with the veterinary clinic, I am also facing a significant drop in donations.
I have contacted several local businesses to request contributions, but most do not have the means to help. I have launched calls for donations on social media, but the observation is the same: people can no longer afford it!
I even tried to negotiate lower prices with my supplier, in vain. Each failure is a hard blow. Despite my efforts, I keep hitting insurmountable obstacles!"
"Distributing kibble has been a real headache lately. I constantly have to monitor the bag levels, adjust portions... It takes up a huge amount of my time and energy, and it prevents me from focusing on other important aspects of my mission.
And it's a vicious circle: without proper nutrition, the dogs can't maintain their health. Without good health, they can't be adopted. And without adoptions, we can't free up space to welcome new animals in distress... It's a cycle that begins and ends with kibble!"
"Animals mean everything to me. I feel like a mother to them! Taking care of them is my daily life, I couldn't imagine my life without them. Yet, this fight is far from easy. There are moments of discouragement, doubt, sadness. Especially in Morocco, where resources are limited and mentalities are not always favorable to the animal cause.
I'm aware that I can't save every animal in the world. But I can save those within my reach. I can offer them shelter, food, care and love. I can give them a chance to live a decent life. I can protect them from the dangers of the streets and mistreatment!
It may not be much compared to the scale of the problem, but for these animals, it makes all the difference in the world. So I keep fighting. For the animals in my care, for those I haven't been able to save yet, and for all those who need a voice to be heard."
