Vomiting, weight loss, fatigue: Petronille has liver lesions!

1. She developed cirrhosis...

Petronille is a 14-year-old dog we rescued from a shelter in La Reunion two years ago. She had contracted heartworm, a tropical disease, which was treated.

However, her liver was damaged, resulting in substantial weight loss and severe vomiting. Veterinary examinations revealed that she was suffering from cirrhosis, causing serious liver lesions. She now requires ongoing treatment.

2. Canned food could help her recover

Canned food suitable for her age could help Petronille regain weight and successfully ingest her medication. Such high-quality, easily digestible food might even alleviate her vomiting.

3. The association is overwhelmed with expenses...

We have halted all out-of-area interventions and now only manage local cases due to numerous abandonments. Since the last lockdown, circumstances continue to be challenging and our food stocks are depleted...

We still have numerous wards to look after, most of which will reside with the association for life! Covering their care costs and treatment regimes also incurs significant expenses...
