Diabetes, urinary problems, calicivirus: poor Lorenzo is dealing with a whole host of health issues!

1. He lives outdoors!

Lorenzo is a three-and-a-half-year-old cat, who lives outside, in a woodland area. The place is swarming with mosquitoes and is rather damp... It's a truly hostile environment for cats!

2. He can't chew anymore...

Suffering from calicivirus, Lorenzo had to undergo a dental extraction. The operation provided relief, by reducing inflammation in his mouth. However, he can no longer eat kibbles, as he's unable to chew...

3. He has diabetes!

Lorenzo is a type 1 diabetic. He drinks a lot, and needs a suitable diet, otherwise, his condition could worsen...

4. He has urinary issues...

Lorenzo has crystals in his urine (struvite). He doesn't have bladder stones yet, but we need to keep a close eye on it.

5. A kennel would provide him with shelter

With a kennel, we could provide Lorenzo with shelter from the elements. Not having to sleep directly on the damp, dirty ground would be a true relief for him. He could finally get a full and restoring rest!

6. Caring for cats in need is very expensive!

Some of our wards are ill and need a specially tailored and costly diet. Their care and feeding amount to hundreds of euros per cat! But, sadly, donations and memberships are far from enough to fund it all...
