2. The dogs are becoming anxious, aggressive, heir health is declining... Without kibble, it's no longer just their health that's threatened, but their lives.
"The lack of kibble has terrible repercussions on the dogs. They become anxious, tense, aggressive… And then there are those who isolate themselves. They retreat into their kennels, flee from tension; they fade away. Their health also suffers. Stress and hunger weaken them, increasing the risk of illness and complications…
I don't have the luxury of giving up or falling apart, but believe me, it's very hard. These dogs only have me. They rely on me, solely on me. They have no other recourse. If I can't feed them, they can't eat! It's as brutal as that. I think of the worst, despite myself: seeing them starve to death… Living with this fear is living with a lump in my throat, constantly. It's also the realization of my own powerlessness, with only one certainty, however: that I could never get over it."
3. Bamby suffers from recurring allergies and infections: he's far too fragile to survive a kibble shortage.
"I fed Bamby on the street every day for a year. He was very wary, always on the defensive… But with time, he eventually trusted me. I brought him to the shelter so he could finally be safe. But this safety, alas, is relative...
Bamby suffers from severe allergies that bother him constantly. He's very fragile; he gets sick for no reason. His defenses are weak; he constantly catches infections... He needs a calm environment, appropriate care, and, above all, good food! It's essential for him. He's one of those dogs who won't be able to last long in the face of a kibble shortage..."
4. Donations have stopped, kibble is low, care halted... This campaign is Samira's last hope to feed her dogs!
"The financial situation of the shelter is really complicated. I'm constantly looking for donations: I post on Facebook, send messages, write in all possible groups… But the answers are often the same: 'I'm sorry, it's difficult right now,' or 'We can't help this month…'
Getting help has become almost impossible. I tried to borrow kibble, but it's only possible in small quantities. And the people who help me out can't wait long to be repaid, because many are in difficulty themselves. We're all in the same boat; everyone does what they can…
Due to lack of money, I even had to stop medical care for three dogs. It was a very hard choice to make, but I truly had no other solution. Today, I don't have many options left. This campaign is essential for me to continue feeding my dogs. I have no other means available to get kibble..."
5. Samira isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.
"Seeing animals suffer is becoming more and more unbearable for me. You'd think that with time, I would have hardened… but no. Every act of cruelty, every injustice affects me as if it were the first day. And I know, deep down, that it will always be this way.
So when I manage to save even one: to get them off the street, to take them away from a violent home or a pound where they risked death, it's already an immense victory. Their gaze, their rediscovered trust, their gently wagging tail… that's worth all the speeches. It's their way of saying thank you, and that's enough for me.
I say with certainty: dogs love unconditionally. They remain loyal until their last breath. I am convinced that if each of us chose, on our own scale, to help an animal, the world would be a little more just, a little more human. We have so much to learn from them!"
