Animal Webaction visited the site 24 June 2025 and confirms the situation described below.
"The kibble shortage is hitting all the dogs we care for extremely hard. For the past month and a half, we've had no choice but to reduce their portions… We only have a few kilos of kibble left. Needless to say, it won't last long.
The situation on the streets is becoming truly critical right now. We're talking about around 60 stray dogs that we feed regularly, and that number keeps increasing. There are constantly new abandoned dogs: pregnant females, old dogs, sometimes even adults that appear out of nowhere.
If we don't manage to find kibble quickly, the street dogs – who rely on us – will have to fend for themselves. Without their usual meals, they'll be forced to go further and further to find food, with all the risks that entails: road accidents, poisoning, fights over scraps… It's a brutal reality for animals already very fragile, animals we've always sworn to protect..."
"Branko is an approximately 8-year-old male. We've been feeding him on the streets since he was a small puppy, and until now, he managed to get by. But this spring, he almost lost his life. He was weakening visibly, stopped eating, remained prostrate… We immediately felt something was wrong. At the vet, the diagnosis came: severe intestinal obstruction. His condition was critical; he could have taken a turn for the worse at any moment…
Thanks to intensive enemas and emergency treatment, he pulled through. But he remains extremely fragile... Like many stray dogs, Branko depends on our distributions to survive. But when rations are scarce, he has no choice but to rummage through garbage, eat spoiled leftovers or waste. That's probably what led him to this situation. His body simply couldn't handle it.
For him, kibble isn't a luxury – it's vital! It's the only way to avoid another crisis, which this time could cost him his life..."
"In our shelters, we care for approximately 78 dogs who depend entirely on us to survive. Their numbers have recently increased because we've had to take in several injured street dogs who needed urgent care or vital operations – dogs we simply cannot put back on the street.
These dogs are confined; they have no other way to feed themselves than what we give them. And today, we simply don't have enough to feed them properly! Hunger causes stress; we can feel the tension rising in the enclosures. The risk of fights increases, and with it, the risk of injuries...
Right now, their immune systems are at their limit: we're dealing with frequent diarrhea, skin infections, and the slightest mishap can escalate. A simple bite or a small wound can quickly become infected, or even become a breeding ground for larvae if we don't intervene in time… Their fate is literally in our hands. Every gram of kibble you offer can truly make a difference… and save a life."
"Honestly, our financial situation is catastrophic. We're a small organization, and we operate solely thanks to donations. However, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, they have plummeted. Many of our supporters have redirected their aid there – which we completely understand – but it has put us in a terrible situation. And in the summer, with holidays, donations drop even further...
We are drowning in debt, whether for kibble or vet bills, and it's an endless cycle because new cases are constantly arriving... We've had to make truly painful decisions, like delaying certain treatments, just to cover other veterinary emergencies. We are constantly torn!
The slightest unforeseen event puts us in a corner because we have no reserves. Every choice we make to help one dog comes at the expense of another... If this campaign reaches its goal, we'll finally be able to lift our heads, welcome new animals who desperately need us, without wondering every day how we're going to fill their bowls..."
"Our mission is simple: we want as few abandoned animals as possible. We do everything we can – sterilizations, adoptions, awareness campaigns – so that every animal has a home, and none end up on the street. We are convinced that they all deserve a safe place, not a life outdoors...
But the reality is that very few of us are carrying this entire burden. We have no fixed source of income: we rely entirely on the generosity of people like you. Without your support, we cannot rescue, feed, or rehome these animals.
Our emergencies vary, but right now, what we desperately lack is kibble. Simply put, enough to fill their bowls. Never think your contribution is too small – it's not! If everyone gave even a little, even what seems symbolic, it would make an immense difference. Every donation, no matter how modest, changes everything for our dogs."
