1. In Morocco, Rokaya is running out of kibble to feed the 175 dogs in her shelter. Without help, they’ll starve to death.

%%%

"I look after 175 dogs at the shelter, but feeding them has become almost impossible. They should be eating 80 kilos a day, but I can only provide 40 kg : literally half of what they need! The dogs are constantly hungry, and I’m completely overwhelmed...

Sometimes I get a few bags of kibble thanks to outside help, but every single time it’s the same dilemma: do I give them bigger portions, because they desperately need it, or do I keep rationing, because I never know where; or when,  the next bags will come from?

No matter what I do, it’s the dogs who suffer. They’ve been rationed for months, they can barely stand on their feet... I’m already drowning in debt, and the little kibble I manage to buy is never enough. Without this campaign, I have no safety net, no way to keep them alive..."

2. The dogs are fighting over meager portions of kibble, one has already died… Others will follow if this campaign fails.

###

"The dogs have lost weight, their skin and health problems are getting worse, they scratch all the time... The lack of kibble also makes them more nervous, more aggressive. Lately, fights have become much more frequent. One morning, I even found a dog dead... It breaks my heart to see them literally tearing each other apart out of hunger... to see their personalities change to the point that it pushes them to that!

I’m stuck: I can’t keep them locked up and starving... but I also can’t release them. Outside, they’d face abuse, accidents, and even the risk of being caught or killed by the authorities. Whatever I do, it’s the dogs who pay the price...

It feels like I’m living with a ticking time bomb. I’m just waiting for the next explosion... This campaign is my only chance to stop everything from collapsing."

3. Weakened by cancer and meager portions, Nuna won’t hold on much longer without kibble…

###

"Nuna is the perfect example of the struggles we’re facing. She was abandoned while pregnant, and recently she was diagnosed with cancer in her neck. She’s undergoing chemotherapy right now...

Huskies don’t handle the heat well and they need more food than other breeds to keep their energy up and stay healthy. But Nuna lives in a shelter in Morocco, where rations are already cut in half... It’s really hard for her, and a constant worry for me.

She’s already been rejected once. And now that she’s sick, who would take her in? Nobody... Today, she literally has no one left but me and the shelter. Her life is hanging by a thread: she’s entirely dependent on this kibble campaign to make it through."

4. Strangled by debt and abandoned by support, Rokaya can no longer cover her dogs’ basic needs…

###

"Financially, I’m at the end of my rope. I owe huge amounts to kibble suppliers and vets, the debts keep piling up endlessly... Everything I manage to scrape together goes straight to feeding the dogs: there’s nothing left for sterilizations, medical care, or even proper upkeep of the shelter.

I’ve tried asking for donations on social media: lots of people see my posts, but very few step in to help. I used to have a handful of regular donors, but most had to stop: a wedding, kids, illness, a tight budget... One by one, the support disappeared, while the dogs’ needs have never changed.

I’ve reached the point where I can’t even provide the dogs’ most basic need: food. I feel overwhelmed, exhausted, on the verge of giving up. Some people tell me I can still hang on, and maybe that’s true to some extent, but it’s at the expense of my physical and mental health, and my own financial stability...

This kibble campaign is the only way I can go on, the only way the dogs can eat. Without it, I’ll be forced to make impossible choices..."

5. Rokaya isn’t asking for money, only kibble to prevent her dogs from starving.

###

"I’m worn out, not just financially but emotionally too. I feel overwhelmed, exhausted, discouraged. Every day I’m running from one emergency to the next, without a stable team to help me: staff come and go because I can’t afford to pay them regularly. In the end, everything falls on my shoulders...

Here in Tetouan, there’s no structure to help animals, no other shelters: I’m their only safety net. I truly love my dogs, and every time one of them heals, learns to trust again, or even just enjoys a meal, I remember why I do all this. But feeding, treating, and caring for 175 dogs is far too much for one person!

Community support isn’t just helpful, it’s vital. Every donation is a lifeline that keeps my animals alive, and that’s even more true when it comes to kibble! Please, share this campaign, talk about it around you, take part... Help me save my dogs..."

6. By taking action now, you can help Rokaya receive 4000 kilos of kibble.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

8. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving in the street!
