Dexter is a cat of about five years, who has contracted a calicivirus. Between his painful jaw and his very sensitive gums, he is finding it increasingly difficult to eat and is beginning to lose weight. We therefore have a treatment to give him to ease his discomfort.
Poor Dexter lives outside, which does nothing to improve his condition. He tries his best to shelter under cars when it rains, but he could get run over at any time!
A moist diet such as cat paté would be ideal for Dexter, given his situation. Easy to swallow, such canned food would minimise his pain when chewing.
We could slip his medications into it, which would help to ease his discomfort. Replenishing his protein intake in this way daily would also help him to regain weight.
At present, there are more and more cats in need. In total, over 60 tomcats are depending on us for help! Unfortunately, epidemics of calicivirus and cat flu are running rampant…
The veterinary expenses to treat all these little ones are astronomical! We don't have enough budget left to buy blankets and specialised food for those who need it…
