Poor Tango lives outside, with a severe case of calicivirus!

1. A virus is making his life miserable!

Tango is a six-year-old cat who has come down with a severe calicivirus. He drools so much that the fur under his chin is sticking together! Sometimes there is pus because the inside of his mouth is very inflamed...

As eating has been difficult for him for the past two months, he has lost weight. We are therefore going to give him treatment to alleviate his symptoms and make him feel better.

2. He sleeps outside!

Poor Tango lives outside, which does not help his condition. He tries to shelter under cars when it rains, but he could get run over at any moment!

3. Canned food would be ideal to help him regain weight

A wet diet, like canned food, would be perfect for Tango given his circumstances. Easy to swallow, such food would decrease his pain during chewing.

We could also include medication in it, which would help to provide him some relief. A daily replenishment of proteins would efficiently help him regain weight.

4. Epidemics are sweeping through the free-living cats...

At the moment, the number of felines in need is on the rise. In total, more than 60 tomcats are relying on us to lend them a helping hand! Unfortunately, epidemics of calicivirus and cat flu are rampant...

The veterinary costs to treat all these cats are astronomical! We don’t have enough budget left to buy blankets and specialised food for those who need it...
