Sirene is a 19-year-old Trotter mare, the first ward of our association. She sustained a broken jaw that wasn’t treated properly at the time. Today, she suffers severe after-effects: her mouth is twisted, and she struggles to eat properly. Rescued in 2010, she lives in the pasture all year round and requires a diet adapted to her handicap.
In order to eat despite her deformed jaw, Sirene needs pellets prepared in a soup form. This soft texture is the only one she can ingest without pain. The pellets would provide all the essential nutrients to maintain her condition and enable her to have a serene summer despite the drought hitting the pastures.
Summer has barely begun, and the grass in the pastures is already gone! We must use our supplies of hay and pellets that were intended for the winter right now. With 40 equines to care for, a full shelter, and mounting veterinary bills, we are in a critical situation. Donations and adoptions are becoming scarce. Without your help, we won't be able to replenish our stocks for the winter!
