Ulcers on the tongue, inflamed mouth, sore throat: poor Kalyne has a calicivirus!

1. Difficulty eating due to inflammation!

Kalyne is a cat of around 12 years old who has unfortunately contracted calicivirus. The inside of her cheeks and her tongue are ulcerated. The back of her throat is also very inflamed.

Due to her struggling to eat and the discomfort of chewing, she has lost weight. We are therefore trying to give her monthly cortisone injections to alleviate her suffering.

2. Canned food will be essential for her recovery.

A wet food diet would be much easier for Kalyne to ingest than dry food. Rich in high-quality nutrients and highly digestible ingredients, this type of canned food would be ideal for her age. Being able to replenish her energy daily in this way would contribute to improving her condition.

3. Most of our protected ones are ill…

We are a small charity based in the town of Ampus. Our mission is to feed and sterilise abandoned cats.

Most of them are ill and need wet food, nests and blankets, things which we sadly do not have the means to purchase. Winter is coming and we are worried!
