Animal Webaction visited the site 29 October 2025 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Hind has almost no kibble left to feed the 400 street dogs her association cares for. They could be killed at any moment...

%%%

“About 400 dogs on the streets depend on us. We can only go on feeding rounds two or three days a week now, depending on how much food and fuel we have. We mostly give them bread and leftovers, because we’ve run out of kibble...

The dogs are hungry, they’ve lost weight, they’re more anxious, their behavior is changing… fights are breaking out more often. When we can’t feed them for a few days, some disappear —:they go scavenging in trash bins, take risks, and expose themselves to accidents, poisoning, and especially the Casablanca pound...

The coming winter will make things worse: cold and hunger together mean survival is at stake. Without help, I’ll have to stop some of the street feedings, and I know what that means : more roaming, more aggression, more injuries, more pound captures... and more deaths.”

2. At Hind’s shelter, 120 vulnerable dogs are also suffering from the lack of kibble!

%%%

“Since this summer, the situation at the shelter has really worsened. We’ve had to rescue more and more dogs: abandoned puppies, injured ones, dogs chased away from construction sites or saved from the Casablanca pound. All this has put enormous pressure on our supplies and resources.

I have no choice : for the past two months, I’ve been rationing the kibble. To make what’s left last, I mix it with bread, leftovers, and chicken carcasses. The dogs have lost weight, their health is deteriorating, they’re more agitated, and fights over food are becoming frequent… Seeing them hungry and not being able to feed them properly is truly heartbreaking!

Winter is approaching, and it’s the hardest time for us. The cold doubles their needs, especially for the most fragile ones : those recently sterilized, recovering, or suffering from mange or anemia. Without kibble soon, we risk more illnesses and sadly, more deaths…”

3. Maya narrowly escaped the pound : skeletal, starving, sick... She could die if this campaign fails.

###

“Maya has been living at the shelter for two months. She was part of a group of stray dogs in Sidi Rahal. That group was captured by the pound services, but she managed to escape. When I found her, she was exhausted, emaciated, with wounds on her skin. She had clearly lived on the streets for a long time, exposed to hunger, disease, and abuse...

Since she arrived, her condition has improved thanks to care and a lot of attention, but she’s still fragile. She still has skin problems and needs suitable food to regain weight and strengthen her immune system.

Without kibble, she’ll lose weight again and her skin issues will get worse... After everything she’s been through, that would be a real setback for her.”

4. Out of funds, in debt, and forced to stop treatments — Hind depends on this campaign to feed the dogs who rely on her.

###

“Financially, things are very fragile. Since 2024, donations have dropped sharply. People are struggling themselves, and even if they sympathize, they can only give small amounts. We rely entirely on donations and kibble campaigns to keep going.

We have unpaid bills with the vets and kibble supplier, unpaid wages for workers, overdue fuel, and an unpaid mechanic’s bill for our ambulance, which is still immobilized. To hold on, I’ve had to stop some long-term treatments and suspend sterilizations...

We’ve knocked on every door, with no success. Today, people’s solidarity and our partnership with Animal Webaction are our only hopes! Kibble is vital : it keeps the dogs at the shelter and on the streets alive.”

5. Hind isn’t asking for money, only kibble, so the dogs don’t starve.

###

“I’ve been involved in animal protection for decades. I’ll never stop, because every life saved matters. Behind every stray dog, there’s a story : abandonment, betrayal, trauma… but also a chance to be reborn if someone reaches out.

My day starts early: feeding dogs and cats, treating the injured, taking the convalescents to the vet, finding ways to pay for sterilizations, fixing the ambulance, organizing rescues... It’s a full-time life.

Here, animal welfare is still misunderstood. Stray dogs are stigmatized, sponsors turn away, especially now with the new law being prepared: ‘Zero Stray Dogs 2030’. But I keep going, because animals belong to everyone, and they reflect our humanity. If I give up, who will continue?

No donation is too small. Every kilo, every gram of kibble means a life sustained.”

6. By taking action now, you can help Hind receive 2900 kilos of kibble.

7. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

8. In Morocco, donors are rare, and there are no foundations or subsidies… It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many cats are left starving in the street!
