Missing teeth, difficult grooming, trouble eating: poor Nairobi has a severe case of calicivirus!

1. Her mouth is terribly inflamed!

Nairobi is a cat of around 12 years old who is suffering from a highly virulent strain of calicivirus. Because her gums are inflamed, many of her teeth have become loose and she has trouble eating. She can only consume wet food now!

Maintaining her cleanliness has also become difficult, considering her very long fur (which we sometimes have to trim). We have been giving Nairobi an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory treatment to alleviate her suffering.

2. Blankets would allow her to spend the winter in warmth

A collection of blankets could ensure that Nairobi always has a clean place to lay down, despite her excessive drooling. She could then sleep in cosy warmth which would aid her rest and recuperation.

3. A hundred stray cats depend on us!

As is common with many small associations, we face significant expenses for veterinary fees and for feeding our charges.

In the initial years, we were able to organize trolley drives. Unfortunately, the store which hosted us no longer accepts collections on behalf of animal causes... Consequently, we're finding it increasingly difficult to cope!
