In a state of severe thinness, Alphonse is not doing well at all...

1. He's having trouble eating…

Alphonse is a cat of around 10 years, who has lost all his teeth due to a calicivirus. As he has ulcers in his mouth, he drools a lot and struggles with eating. The poor thing is just skin and bones now!

2. He's harbouring a serious illness !

Alphonse's thinness can partially be explained by his inability to digest the protein in his food.

Based on the results of the vet's examinations, it is suspected that he might have the beginning stages of cancer, or an autoimmune disease. Unfortunately, there isn't a possible treatment…

3. He's living outside…

Due to a lack of room in foster homes and because Alphonse is very wild, he currently lives outdoors, in a secured site. At the moment, there's only a makeshift shelter, made from a few planks and it's not waterproof…

4. A shelter would protect him from bad weather

With a proper kennel, Alphonse would have somewhere to take shelter when it rains. He would also be better protected from wind and cold, which would allow him to sleep more peacefully and recuperate better. Even though a home is out of the question, having a little house would bring him great comfort!

5. Donations are drastically falling !

Our association sterilises stray cats and find homes for the more sociable ones. We feed them by organising food collections, but this isn't working as well anymore. Due to the economic crisis, people have fewer resources: this has a direct impact on donations!
