Pixie lives outside, even though she has calicivirus and is significantly weakened!

1. Her feeding is difficult due to calicivirus!

Pixie is a cat of about six years old, who has just caught a severe calicivirus. The inside of her mouth is so inflamed, she drools a lot and struggles to eat. We are therefore going to give her cortisone to relieve her.

2. She lives outdoors and has nowhere to take shelter...

Pixie lives outside, on a feeding site. The place is damp and offers no place of refuge, except for a few hedges... With the intensifying cold, we are very worried for Pixie!

3. Blankets would keep her well warmed

With a set of blankets, Pixie would no longer have to sleep on the frozen, dirty ground. Being able to snuggle into something soft and comfortable would allow her to rest better. This would be a true renewal for her!

4. Epidemics are rampant...

The free-roaming cats are so numerous that we are planning a sterilization campaign to limit their proliferation. Since they live outside, it's very difficult to contain epidemics...

This year, many have caught calicivirus! In total, we are looking after no fewer than 45 needy tomcats...
