Mouth pain, weight loss, irritated gums: Garfield has a severe case of gingivostomatitis!

1. He's really struggling to eat!

Garfield is an eight-year-old cat who has severe gingivitis-stomatitis: his very inflamed gums make it hard for him to eat and groom himself. He has also lost a lot of weight.

So, we've been giving him injections of anti-inflammatory and anti-infective drugs to ease his discomfort. He also has antibiotics to take with his food for a few more days.

2. Canned food would help him regain energy easily

A moist diet would be perfect for Garfield, allowing him to eat without pain. Such food, being highly digestible and easy to ingest, would provide him with valuable nutrients. He could then gain weight and take his medication more easily.

3. We're barely keeping our heads above water...

We're facing a tough situation: the association is reaching capacity; we've got loads of sick cats to manage and no subsidies. Everything the city council gave us has gone on providing care... so we no longer have the means to buy food for our wards!
