Deficiencies, vulnerabilities, damaged teeth: Surprise needs supplementation!

1. She has vulnerabilities...

Surprise is an 18-year-old mare whose mother lacked nutrients during her gestation. As a result, Surprise is deficient and her teeth are starting to deteriorate.

Because of this, she can no longer feed herself properly, even though she's still young. The winter tends to lead to a loss in muscle mass, which weakens her greatly.

2. To regain strength, she will need moistened pellets

A moistenable food option such as pellets would be ideal for Surprise. She wouldn't have any trouble consuming them, which would allow her to efficiently regain strength, without risking colic. Facing the harsh winter cold will thus be less challenging for her.

3. Times are tough!

We have fewer and fewer volunteers, and our finances are at their lowest. We're struggling to turn things around, but times are particularly hard for our association!
