Caporal is a 14-year-old horse that we have recently taken in because his owner could no longer afford to keep him due to financial difficulties. He suffers from chronic piroplasmosis, an illness causing him a constant state of weakening. Therefore, he must have supplements all year round to maintain his condition...

2. With pellets, he could stabilise his weight

A supplement like pellets would be essential for Caporal. By providing him with vitamins and minerals on a daily basis, such a diet could give him the precious energy he needs to fight the effects of the piroplasmosis. It could be his chance to stabilise his condition and regain better health despite his chronic illness.

3. We are no longer able to cope!

The shelter receives no financial aid or subsidies. In winter, the expenses dramatically increase, and it becomes increasingly difficult to meet all the costs. Our residents need to eat every day, and we have to pay the vet, especially as some of them have lifelong treatments that are very costly...
