Blind and deaf, poor Clochette was destined for the slaughterhouse!

1. Her owner wanted to put her down…

Clochette, a 7-year-old sow, was bought by her previous owner as a miniature pig. As often happens, she quickly started gaining weight: when she exceeded 100kg, her owner wished to put her down. So we saved her at the age of 2, to save her from this terrible fate!

2. She is both blind and deaf

Inadequately fed before her rescue, Clochette unfortunately lost her hearing and sight. She sometimes bumps into things due to her handicap, as orientating herself is much harder for her. She lives outdoors in a suitable environment with shelter and a pond. We make sure nothing is lying around her path to prevent her from getting hurt…

3. Pellets would allow her to eat healthily

Appropriate pellets would be perfect for Clochette. By providing her a balanced diet, they would help her to maintain her health despite her disadvantages, without worsening her health issues. She could make it through the winter with all odds in her favour.

4. We're going through an especially tough period!

The shelter receives no financial assistance or subsidy. In winter, expenses significantly increase and it becomes increasingly difficult to meet all costs. Our residents need to eat every day, and we have to afford the vet, especially since some of them are on costly lifelong treatments…
