Calicivirus, fleas, diarrhoea: poor Isis was in a critical condition and struggling to pull through!

1. She was in a pitiful state...

Isis is a 10-year-old cat who was found lifeless a month ago out in the countryside. Infested with fleas, riddled with diarrhoea, and skeletal - we swiftly treated her for pests and moved her to a safe area.

2. She has cat flu!

Isis suffers from cat flu which persists despite the treatments. Her nose is constantly running, and she sneezes a lot. Poor Isis is exhausted!

3. She struggles to eat…

Upon arrival, it took Isis six days to start eating again due to a severe calicivirus. Since then, her gums have remained highly inflamed and infected.

She also has ulcers on her tongue and loose teeth. But as she is still thin and frail, we are unable to operate (perform a tooth extraction) to alleviate her discomfort…

4. Blankets would keep her warm

With a set of blankets, Isis could more easily maintain her body temperature whilst she rests. This would make her sleep more restorative, potentially helping her regain her strength. A virtuous circle could then possibly be set in motion for her…

5. We face a financial disaster!

Since the spring of 2025, the number of animals requiring support has rocketed. Abandoned animals are becoming increasingly common, and we are dealing with a surge of veterinary emergencies. The financial situation of the organisation is catastrophic!
