Traumatised by a fire, young Baloo had part of his fur burnt!

1. He was burnt...

Baloo is an approximately one-year-old cat who was on one of the sites that caught fire. He was partly scorched by the flames.

We took him to the vet where he received inhalations and a shot of antibiotics to prevent his burns from becoming infected.

2. He now lives outdoors!

Baloo is so wild that he couldn't bear to stay indoors. Therefore, he had to be released back onto his original site. But there's nothing left there as all the trees have burnt down! He has nowhere left to take shelter...

3. Blankets would keep him warm

A set of blankets would allow us to create a cosy corner for Baloo. He could take refuge there and enjoy a little haven of softness after the horrors he's been through. Come nightfall, he would also be better protected from the cold and humidity.

4. The fires caused significant damage...

Following the wildfires in Aude, our association had to take many animals into care. Two feeding sites were affected, and many cats got severely burnt!

We place them in foster homes as and when, but it's really complicated as we were already short of places. We also can't afford to buy food, blankets, and cat houses for all these kitties who urgently need them…
