Animal Webaction visited the site 09 January 2026 and confirms the situation described below.

“Right now, the situation at the shelter is truly critical. We’ve had extremely heavy rain over the past few weeks. The shelter is on a steep slope, down in a hollow, so the water flooded everything! The kennels were submerged, my dogs were standing with their paws in water… We had to act urgently to evacuate everything.
Living conditions have deteriorated drastically, and to make matters worse, there’s no running water at the shelter anymore! So I have to buy water tanks, even though we’re already struggling financially. On top of that, we’re also facing a serious kibble shortage…
There’s barely any stock left, and I have no way to buy more. For the past month, I’ve been forced to ration the dogs. The kibble is poor quality, and above all, they’re not getting enough to eat. My dogs are already weakened by the humidity, the cold, the stress… so knowing they’re hungry too; it’s truly the final blow…”

“At the shelter, we have extremely vulnerable dogs: puppies, seniors, sick dogs, dogs with disabilities. For them, the current rations simply aren’t enough. They’re eating very little, and the kibble is low quality. I’m deeply worried about their condition. I know it, and I see it far too often: when the food isn’t adequate, it’s always the weakest who suffer first…
Just a few days ago, a mother and her nine puppies were abandoned outside the shelter. They’re here now, and they need to eat every single day, but our supplies are nearly gone. In a situation like this, every new abandonment makes the shortage even worse. It’s becoming harder and harder to cope, even for the dogs who were already here…
This situation is exhausting me mentally. Knowing that dependent, vulnerable dogs don’t have enough food, having to manage with inadequate rations, living in this constant state of emergency… It’s incredibly hard. They rely on me to eat, but today, I can only keep going if help arrives…”

“Financially, everything has become extremely complicated. I can no longer afford to buy kibble, and the debts keep piling up, debts to kibble suppliers, to the vet, unpaid bills… There have been so many unexpected expenses in recent weeks: vaccinating all the dogs, repairing the damage caused by the floods, and emergency interventions to keep the shelter from being overwhelmed by water.
I’ve also been through heartbreaking moments recently, with the loss of three of my dogs: Ballo, Touta, and Eva. Despite my requests, I’m not receiving the same level of support as before, and my calls for help often go unanswered. The amounts I need to pay have become enormous, and without outside support, I’m completely stuck…
Kibble isn’t a luxury or something extra. It’s what keeps these dogs going, what stops them from getting even weaker, and helps them keep fighting despite already brutal conditions. That’s why this campaign is absolutely vital!”

“I’ve never been able to turn a blind eye to animal suffering, that’s what pushed me to get involved. Here in Morocco, the situation is extremely difficult: countless abandonments, stray dogs everywhere, very limited resources, and shelters surviving however they can. And still, I keep going, because for these dogs, more often than not, there is no one else.
Right now, things are also extremely hard for me personally. Physically and emotionally, I’m exhausted. My health is fragile: dizziness, constant fatigue, endless trips back and forth to the hospital. But the dogs are here, they depend on this shelter, and that forces me to keep moving forward—even when it feels impossible. I don’t have the strength, or the heart, to abandon them.
But the truth is, I can’t keep going alone. No one could in these conditions. Helping today means giving these dogs the chance to keep eating, to survive, and maybe one day, to have another life, a real life! In a loving family.”
