Emaciation, difficulties eating, mouth inflammation: Sawyer has gingivostomatitis!

1. He has lost a lot of weight because of an illness!

Sawyer is a six-year-old cat, whose immune defences have been weakened by FIV. Unfortunately, he has contracted calicivirus and stomatitis, causing sores and inflammation in his mouth.

As these cause him trouble eating, he has drastically lost weight! We have had to remove some of his teeth for relief, therefore he can no longer eat dry food.

2. Blankets would protect him from the cold

A batch of blankets would provide a comfy place for Sawyer to rest. By helping him to better retain his body heat, the blankets would allow him to enjoy a more restorative sleep. All of this would assist him to regain better health!

3. We are in a vicious cycle...

We have many sick cats, in particular with calicivirus. Free-roaming cats transmit it to each other as they have weak immunity! Veterinary costs have therefore multiplied in recent months, impacting our budget for food...
