Mouth ulcers, missing teeth, difficulty eating: poor Baloo has calicivirus!

1. He is struggling to eat due to a calicivirus...

Baloo is a cat, approximately 10 years old, who suffers from a serious calicivirus. Ulcers in his mouth make eating a difficulty. Additionally, he is missing several teeth which present further difficulties when chewing.

As he carries the Feline Immunodeficiency Syndrome (FIV), his immune system is weakened and he is unable to heal. We therefore perform regular injections, aiming to alleviate his pain.

2. To maintain his strength this winter, he will require canned food

A moist diet aimed at senior cats would be the most appropriate food for Baloo. Such food would enable him to eat easily and regularly. Consequently, he would be able to restore his energy levels and better withstand the winter cold.

3. Our food supplies will soon be depleted!

Our association looks after about fifty adult cats on a daily basis. Even though we have neutered and identified them, we struggle to feed them due to our financial constraints. The donations and collections we have made are far from enough to cover all the costs…
