Blind, Laila suffers from dental and ENT issues which greatly weaken her!

1. She is completely blind

Laila is a 23-year-old mare, which we have been looking after for 7 years. She was confined in a barn and had a severe eye infection when we took her in. We provided her with care, but we soon realised that she had become blind, likely due to repeated uveitis…

2. She has numerous health issues

Laila also suffers from dental problems; her entire respiratory tract is affected. She no longer has an infection, but her body is damaged, and she is unable to properly assimilate the food she consumes. All these issues are leading to her gradual weakening!

3. Pellets would help her regain weight

Supplementing Laila's diet with pellets is essential. Given her assimilation problems, she needs nutrient-rich food to regain health and strength despite her many health issues. If given in a soup form, they would make eating easier for her.

4. The decline in donations is causing us difficulties…

Like many associations, we are facing a significant drop in donations. We are responsible for 11 horses, and their food represents our largest expense. Some of our equines are old or have health problems, and they need dietary supplements in addition to unlimited hay and grass. Without help, we will be unable to continue meeting their needs!
