Animal Webaction visited the site 01 March 2026 and confirms the situation described below.

"In the streets, we've been cutting portions for over a month. We share leftovers, we try to make sure each one gets something… but it’s not enough. The dogs are losing weight, they’re wasting away... some have already fallen ill. The problem is, we’re already short on funds just to feed them, so when their health starts to decline and they need treatment, it becomes incredibly complicated...
Hunger is also creating tensions that weren’t there before. The dogs are more reactive, fights are more frequent. And the more they fight, the more they become a nuisance in the neighborhoods... The pound officers have already come to capture some of them. Every time they intervene, my heart sinks, because I know what that can mean for them.
If we can’t resume our distributions as normal, the street dogs will take greater and greater risks just to survive. The roundups will increase, some will be shot, others will end up eating anything they can find and poisoning themselves. The lack of kibble sets off a chain reaction… and street dogs are always the first to pay the price..."

"Meskin. He joined the group of street dogs about a month ago. I don’t really know his story, but people in the neighborhood told me he was abandoned by his owner. He’s barely two years old...
Meskin is very fearful. He keeps his distance, and it takes time for him to start trusting us. He is extremely thin, you can clearly see his bones. His condition is worrying. You can feel that he lacks strength and won’t last much longer like this.
We tried to catch him to take him to the vet, but for now it’s impossible. He first needs to get used to us. As soon as he gains a little trust, we’ll finally be able to get him treated, because his condition is critical. In the meantime, more than ever, he needs kibble to regain at least some strength and be able to survive..."

"At the shelter, the situation is no more reassuring. We have 70 dogs to feed, and for the past month we’ve been weighing, dividing, trying to make the bags last as long as possible. They do have kibble, yes… but in insufficient quantities and of poor quality. Many have started having diarrhea. They’re losing weight. Their bodies are weakening instead of growing stronger.
Every mealtime has become a moment of tension. The dogs are hungry, alert, on edge. The slightest movement, the slightest delay, and fights break out... We spend our time watching, separating them, trying to keep a simple meal from turning into a disaster.
If this campaign fails, it will be carnage: more illness, more fights, more suffering... Even though our shelter is meant to be a haven of peace; for all these dogs that others have abandoned."

"Wifi is a two year old male. He has been suffering from dermatitis for several months. We treat him, the medication improves his condition, then the disease comes back. His skin is fragile, sensitive, and it weakens him a lot.
He is also very vulnerable around the other dogs. At mealtime, he hangs back, he waits until the others have finished before coming to eat, to avoid being attacked. He often goes last. With the lack of kibble and the current tensions, he is even more exposed...
More than the others, Wifi needs kibble to strengthen his skin, regain his strength and keep from slipping away."

"Right now, we have several dogs suffering from mange at the shelter and these treatments are a heavy burden on our budget. Mange requires regular monitoring: consultations, injections, medication, sometimes for several weeks. We can’t stop treatment halfway through, otherwise everything has to start again… and the dogs relapse.
We’ve also had to treat several dogs injured in fights. These costs are added to an already substantial veterinary bill... We launch fundraisers for every urgent need, but they never cover all our expenses.
Donations have decreased and we can no longer balance our spending: food, water, veterinary care… Everything is piling up at the same time. We have debts everywhere... We’re trying to hold on, not to give up, but we know it: without this campaign, we won’t be able to feed our dogs."

"At the shelter, nothing is theoretical: we have to treat, monitor, step in when tensions rise and manage to fill the bowls every single day. It’s a titanic task that Rachid and I are trying to keep up with, despite the exhaustion. The dogs arrive thin, injured, sometimes suffering from mange...
When a new dog comes in, they are never accepted right away by the pack, especially if they are weak. We have to remain vigilant at all times. We protect, we stabilize, we prevent fights. Then, little by little, some regain weight, heal, find a bit of calm again. Those improvements keep us going. And so do the adoptions, even if the goodbyes are always difficult for us.
Today, everything depends on something very simple: food. Without kibble, sick dogs cannot recover, tensions rise, and all the work we’ve built can collapse. We are doing everything we can, but we cannot hold on alone... What we need is not big speeches. It’s full bowls, so that everything doesn’t fall apart."
