Animal Webaction visited the site 13 May 2026 and confirms the situation described below.

"Over the past two weeks, we’ve taken in 11 abandoned dogs! We try to set limits for ourselves, of course. We tell ourselves we can’t stretch the walls, that we have to be reasonable. But when a dog is left in front of the shelter, or when we find one in the street, injured, starving, lost, reason doesn’t last very long...
Today, what makes my stomach twist is the food. The bags of kibble are disappearing at a crazy speed. No matter how careful we are, how closely we watch the portions, how much we mix what we receive so it lasts a little longer, it goes down too fast. And behind every emptying bag, the same question keeps coming back: what will we do after that?
Our dogs aren’t objects we can just put on hold. They are living animals, who look at us, who depend entirely on us. So I count, I start over, I search, I ask for help once again. I don’t like asking, no one does. But today, my willpower is no longer enough to fill the bowls! This campaign is my only chance to be able to feed them..."

"Our situation is fragile, far too fragile. We make the stocks last however we can, we try to keep the best for the puppies, the old ones, the sick ones, the ones who cope less well. We learn to stretch every bag, every donation, every bowl.
Right now, the quality of the food isn’t ideal, and we can clearly see it. The dogs are changing before our eyes: diarrhea is starting, some refuse their bowl, others are getting weaker. Even their teeth are deteriorating.
What scares me isn’t only that they might lose weight. Hunger changes a dog! It makes them nervous, tense, it pushes them into survival mode. In a shelter, with several dogs together, things can escalate very quickly. A missing bowl, tension, a fight... And it’s always the most fragile ones who pay first."

"Crna is 14 years old. We don’t know her whole story, but we know what she went through: she was deliberately hit by a car. Since then, she has kept a limp, and with her age, surgery is no longer an option.
She is a very calm dog, very gentle, discreet too. She doesn’t ask for much. She moves at her own pace, with her tired body, her damaged leg, her old age making every shortage more dangerous. Crna is one of those dogs who don’t fight to claim their place, so we have to watch out for her.
She needs to eat every day, properly, without any gaps. At her age, she doesn’t have much leeway left! The slightest drop can quickly cost her strength. After everything she has been through, seeing her weaken simply because we didn’t manage to fill her bowl would be the final blow..."

"Financially, we are always barely keeping our heads above water. The land where the shelter is located has finally been bought, and that is an immense relief. But one problem solved doesn’t erase all the others. Vet bills, fuel, water, maintenance, cleaning products, repairs: everything comes at once, everything costs money, everything is urgent.
The veterinary debts are huge, and they weigh heavily. Every rescued dog arrives with their own story, sometimes with injuries, illnesses, treatments. We would like to be able to say no to certain expenses, to postpone, to choose. But when an animal is suffering, you don’t make neat little calculations on a sheet of paper. You act, and the bills come afterward.
We have tried everything. There is nothing fixed, nothing certain, nothing we can truly rely on. Donations help, of course, but they are irregular, while the needs come back every single morning. This campaign is essential because it touches on the simplest and most vital thing: filling the bowls!"

"I’ve been doing this for 15 years. Over time, people might think you get used to it. In reality, you don’t. You only learn to keep going with the exhaustion. Here, abandonments are part of the landscape, and maybe that’s the hardest part: not becoming indifferent. I can’t do that. A dog outside, a dog injured, a dog sick, immediately becomes a responsibility.
At the shelter, everything rests on two or three people. We sleep badly, we count, we search, we respond to emergencies, we clean, we transport, we treat, we start again. There are days when we come home with dirty clothes, the smell of the shelter on us, and our heads still full of the dogs we didn’t have time to stroke. We put a lot of our lives aside, not because we’re heroic, but because they have no other solution.
Not being able to feed our dogs is like not being able to feed your own family. It’s brutal, simple, impossible to put into perspective. I keep going because once you’ve committed, you can’t just turn your back on living beings who are suffering. But no one can hold on alone. A donation of kibble here isn’t just a meal: it means less fear in the kennels, more strength for the fragile dogs, and a chance to keep protecting them."
