Ouin-Ouin is a 10-year-old cat living with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Syndrome) who hasn't got any teeth left. Chewing dry food has become an impossible mission for him.
Ouin-Ouin has chronic kidney disease. This means that his kidneys are no longer filtering out toxins from his body properly. He is, therefore, often tired and requires treatment.
Sadly, Ouin-Ouin has recurring cat flu. His eyes start to run, and he sneezes and coughs a lot during these bouts of illness.
A wet diet like a cat pâté would be easier for Ouin-Ouin to ingest than dry food. This would be an opportunity for him to refuel, and hopefully, regain some of his strength. It would also make it easier for him to take his medication.
We take on about 150 cases like Ouin-Ouin's a year. But with the ongoing crisis, donations have been impacted: they have halved while veterinary costs have skyrocketed! The small amount of money collected from adoptions is insufficient to feed all our feline charges…
