Animal Webaction visited the site 14 June 2026 and confirms the situation described below.

"Today, I care for nearly 200 dogs, and I have almost nothing left to give them. I barely have five bags of kibble left, that’s all, for 200 hungry mouths! I’ve already been forced to ration for several months: I cut down every bowl, I share out the little that’s left so that no one is completely forgotten, but none of my dogs gets enough to eat.
The problem is that I keep finding new dogs that nobody wants. Sometimes, it’s several dogs a week… The more there are, the more kibble we need, and that is exactly what I’m missing! I can’t even buy any anymore: my suppliers won’t give me credit anymore, I owe them too much...
To make up for it, I give them a bit of bread and carcasses, chicken feet. It isn’t real food, and it will never be enough to keep them healthy. I know my dogs are suffering because of this situation, and I feel completely helpless, because I don’t have the solutions or the resources we would need."

"My dogs have been living on rations for months, and they haven’t been eating enough. The bread and chicken carcasses I use to make up for it don’t cover their needs, and it’s a very fragile balance that could break at any moment. I know that dogs fed like this end up getting weaker, and that is exactly what I’m afraid of if I can no longer give them kibble.
What I fear more than anything is the day when I won’t even have anything left to make up for it. Then, the consequences would be dramatic: diseases would spread, and deaths would multiply. With nearly 200 dogs to feed, including some who are already severely disabled like Tesla or Chance, once hunger sets in, there would be nothing more I could do to save them... Living with that is constant pressure: I can see the danger coming, but I don’t have the means to stop it."

"Chance is a dog of about 6 years old. He lived on the streets, exposed to terrible violence. He was the victim of repeated torture linked to beliefs... someone cut off both his hind legs! Even today, his condition remains very delicate. It’s really hard to understand… Some people show immense ignorance and terrible cruelty.
Deprived of his hind legs, he can only rely on me to feed him, and with my reserves almost empty, I know what is waiting for him: his condition could deteriorate very quickly! For him, it isn’t just a question of hunger, it’s his survival that is at stake.
I called him Chance because after everything he has been through, I hope life will finally be able to give him another chance. But for him to keep going, he needs kibble, every day! I can’t let him down now, not after everything he has already survived to make it to me."

"I do have support, and I’m grateful for every bit of help we receive. Some associations support us with adoptions, sterilizations, food or fundraising. But even with all that, it isn’t enough to feed 200 dogs every day. The needs are too great, the kibble goes too fast, and individual donations have dropped a lot recently.
If I only had the dogs to care for, maybe I could still manage to find a balance, to hold on a little longer… But that isn’t the case. In addition to the dog shelter, I also have a shelter dedicated to cats, with hundreds of cats who also depend on me. Everyone has to be fed, treatments have to be paid for, medicine, vaccines, sterilizations, the facilities have to be repaired… and the expenses never stop piling up.
Today, we are operating with credit and debt. The debts are mainly for veterinary fees, food suppliers and the equipment we need ; they amount to around 2,800 euros. The suppliers won’t give me credit anymore, so I can’t buy kibble like before. This campaign is truly crucial: without it, I don’t know how I will keep feeding the shelter dogs, and some rescues may become impossible."

"I never planned for all this. I started by taking care of cats, then one day I found twelve abandoned puppies, without their mother, and I couldn’t leave them there. And then they grew up… and it became impossible for me to release them. That’s how the dog shelter started, little by little. It wasn’t planned, but the situation overwhelmed me.
Today, there are only two of us volunteers holding the fort, Omar and me. We also have an employee who comes at night, but most of the work falls on us. I do a bit of everything: feeding, cleaning, care, repairs, building… There isn’t really a typical day, because there is always an emergency, a dog to treat, a problem to fix. We really put all our heart into what we do.
Emotionally, it’s very intense. I experience it as a beautiful love story with the animals, but also with constant fear. It’s wonderful to see them start trusting again, start eating again, wagging their tails… Those are the moments that give me the strength to keep going. But it’s also a heavy burden, because they depend on me! I would like donors to understand that I’m doing my best, but that on my own, I can’t make it. Their help can truly change these dogs’ lives: allow them to eat, to hold on, to heal, and to finally feel safe."
