Hippo is a blind and deaf cat of approximately 10 years, whom we found in a car park. Sadly, he has a thickening of the external walls of the heart.
This causes him breathing difficulties, abdominal fluid build-up and a swollen belly... We therefore provide him with medication to alleviate his symptoms.
Last winter, Hippo caught a severe case of cat flu. Since then, his nose continues to produce pus and he seems tired. We have therefore given him another steroid injection and are providing him with antibiotics.
A diet specifically designed for senior cats would provide Hippo with the necessary nutrients to regain his strength without any risk. It would also be a good way for him to take his medicine and stay hydrated throughout the day.
Many of our charges are sick, and new ones have also arrived in poor condition.
With almost 80 toms to look after, the vet appointments are mounting up, and so are the fees... Regrettably, in-person collections are not bringing in enough funds!
