Ulcers in the mouth, missing teeth, difficulty eating: Kraken has a severe case of calicivirus!

1. He can no longer eat dry cat food…

Kraken is a 10-year-old cat who is a carrier of FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Syndrome). Being more vulnerable immunologically, he has developed a serious form of calicivirus and requires ongoing treatment.

When we took him in, he was drooling heavily due to mouth ulcers and was completely unable to eat! Therefore, we had to extract most of his teeth in the hope of alleviating his discomfort…

2. Blankets would provide the comfort he needs

To regain his strength, Kraken will need a lot of rest. Blankets would be perfect for creating a cosy space for him to sleep and recover.

3. Sadly, cases of pet abandonment are on the rise…

We have recently taken care of many unweaned kittens that needed bottle feeding. Adult cats have also been abandoned, resulting in many more mouths to feed… The costs for our charity are mounting up!
