Fifi is a 19-and-a-half-year-old cat that we took in following a rescue operation involving a severe cat overpopulation situation. Extremely shy, she has never been able to socialise. Recently, she had dental scaling and her blood tests showed nothing alarming. However, Fifi suffers from chronic intestinal problems: if her diet is not perfectly adapted, she has very loose stools.
Fifi relies on a specialised intestinal diet to prevent diarrhoea. Without this specific, mild and easily-digestible canned food, her digestive system immediately gets out of balance. At 19 and a half years old, every occurrence of diarrhoea weakens her a little more: it is essential that she can receive sufficient amounts of it.
We currently have more than 35 cats in our care, including about fifteen kittens. The association is almost entirely dependent on a lone volunteer, who has to work on the side to meet her own needs. Here, in this rural environment, the adoption of adult cats has been at a standstill for two or three years. The vet bills keep piling up, donations are virtually non-existent, and our resources are dwindling: we need help now more than ever.
