Arriving in a state of hypothermia and covered in worms, little Philéo is battling to pull through!

1. He almost didn't survive...

Phileo is a kitten of about two months old, who had a terrible start in life. Before coming to us, he was in the hands of someone who force-fed him with a pipette, disregarding essential handling procedures. His brother and sister didn't survive. When we got him, Phileo was hypothermic, riddled with worms and in a critical condition: his hindquarters were so irritated and purulent that we had to anaesthetise the area to treat him.

2. His intestines are still very fragile...

Today, Phileo remains very fragile in regards to digestion. As soon as he eats regular food, diarrhoea returns immediately. His body, exhausted by the worm infestation and the inadequate care he was subjected to, needs time to recover. A new anti-parasitic treatment is scheduled to help rid him of worms completely.

3. Kitten canned food would provide the energy he desperately needs

For Phileo, each meal is important. Canned kitten food, which is easy to digest and nutrient-rich, would help him regain strength without upsetting his delicate intestines. This is what his small body needs in order to start gaining weight and to continue growing healthily.

4. The association relies heavily on a single person...

We currently have over 35 cats in our care, including about fifteen kittens. The association almost entirely relies on a single volunteer, who also works to support herself. Here, in a rural area, adoptions of adult cats have been stagnant for two or three years. Veterinary bills are mounting, donations are virtually non-existent, and our reserves are running out: we need help now more than ever.
