Animal Webaction visited the site 27 June 2019 and confirms the situation described below.

The 70 dogs in this Romanian shelter have been rationed for several weeks and will starve to death!

Flora can no longer find kibble, she sends us a genuine SOS.

We went to her shelter on June 27th, there were only 5 kg of kibbles left.

Dogs don't eat every day, even bread is a luxury...

Flora already dedicates her small salary to them, and accumulates debts.

Despite her SOS, no international foundation intervenes, the only foreign association involved asks us to help Flora.

We would like to send 2400 kg of kibble as a matter of urgency.

100% transparency guaranteed

1. Rationed for weeks, the 70 dogs at the shelter have no more kibbles!

###
Only 5 months old, Bobita has already had to face babesiosis, a serious parasitic disease from which he has only recently been cured. Weakened, he needs kibble to regain his strength

###
Suffering from epileptic seizures, Bella is in poor health, and will not be able to tolerate malnutrition much longer

###
Roscatica is suffering from a cancer that makes her very fragile, malnutrition worsens her condition

###
Found by the roadside just three months ago, Rony was just a hungry, two-month-old puppy. He also had to face parvovirus, which he managed to fight. Now 5 months old, he is still growing and cannot tolerate malnutrition

###
During our visit on June 27th, there were only 5kg of kibbles left at the shelter, divided into a few buckets. With 70 dogs in charge, 28 kg of kibbles would be needed every day: in the last two weeks, Flora has only been able to provide only 1 kg per day...

To make up for the lack of food, Flora brings dry bread to the 70 dogs instead, the only way for them to forget about their hunger...

###
Dogs suffer from diarrhea, lose weight and start to lose their hair, they need kibble !

For several weeks now, getting kibble has become a real problem for Flora. Already in debt with her kibble supplier, she only manages to buy very small quantities, insufficient to feed the 70 dogs she cares for. "Right now I have no food left, they eat dry bread. There are times when I have nothing left to feed them, bread is a luxury. The help is at random, I'm desperate! "she told us shortly before our visit.

2. Torn by hunger, the dogs destroy the makeshift beds set up by Flora, she cannot replace them!

###
A teacher, Flora earns only a small salary: her only possession is a house, which she has transformed into a makeshift shelter because she does not have enough resources to build pens....

###
Flora did her best to arrange the place as much as she could, putting together some improvised baskets and boxes here and there

###
But the efforts made to bring a little comfort to the dogs do not stand up to the current circumstances. Torn by hunger, the dogs bite the equipment laid out by Flora: little by little, all the plaids and blankets are reduced to pieces

###
Mattresses are not more resistant, and the foam they contain spreads on the floor

###
Flora tries as she can to distribute the little food available, and to pay particular attention to the puppies, who are very affected by this situation

Flora works as a teacher, and earns only a small salary: a situation that does not allow her to build proper pens or shelter. "I don't have a fence, pens or cages," Flora explains with regret.

"The shelter is actually  Flora's house. She lives in just one room, with a few dogs and cats. The other rooms are used as boxes for the rest of the dogs" explained George, our caseworker, upon his return from the visit.

But the lack of food makes the dogs more sensitive, they bite the equipment Flora managed to install as best she can to prevent them from sleeping on the concrete, and reduce everything to pieces...

3. Flora already spends all her income at the shelter, but is beset by debt. She's considering giving everything up !

###
Our caseworker George (right) spoke at length with Flora (left) during his visit, and understood how far beyond her reach the situation is

At the time of our visit, Flora was already in debt of several hundred euros, both for veterinary care and for dog food.

Overtaken by the situation, to which she sees no way out, she considers closing the shelter "This collection is my last hope. If it fails, I would have to sell my house, and the dogs would have nowhere else to go," she told us during our visit...

4. If we don't reach the target, dogs won't receive any food

A failed collection on Animal Webaction

We can take action, we have already booked a truck and pallets, but we have to pay it before July 6th.

If the collection fails, we will not be able to pay, the departure of the truck will be cancelled and none of the collected kibbles will be delivered...

If the collection fails, we will refund all donors.

5. Flora's calls to international foundations remain unanswered, the only one who supports her cannot do more and asks us to help out

Flora's commitment to abandoned animals dates back to 2006. When she embarked on this adventure, she thought the most difficult thing was to act on the ground, and that by managing this, adoptions and supports would follow: "Instead, people leave dogs in front of my house, because they know I will take care of them," she regrets. "I keep crying for help, but no charity comes to see my situation and that of the animals."

Her contacts with international associations and foundations have been in vain, with the exception of one German association, RespekTIERE, which sends her food 2 to 3 times a year. But the quantities provided are far from covering the needs of dogs all year round.... "She tries everything to give the dogs a better life. she needs urgently food. so when you can help the dogs at her, I would be very thankful " Maxi, President of the association, told us a few days before our visit.

6. Online collections are not working, the handful of individuals who help Flora is at its maximum capacity

Flora is supported by a handful of individuals, who help her as much as they can, and when they can. The help they provide is essential to Flora and means a lot to her. But it is largely insufficient for the needs of a shelter of 70 dogs, which also has 28 cats....

Facebook calls and online collections have also been tried, but with very low results so far, Flora no longer knows how to do it!

7. We want to bring them kibbles

###
Abandoned in front of Flora's door, Tony was certainly dropped off there by his former master who no longer wanted him... He has only been living at the shelter for 6 months

###
Dragged into the back of a car by its former owner, Maia was subjected to a lot of suffering... She owes her survival today to Flora who rescued her and placed her in the shelter, but today it is hanging by a thread due to the lack of food....

###
Iza was discovered by the roadside, hungry and almost furless... This ordeal has weakened her

###
Fulia was to be euthanized in an animal pound, as she was not able to chew solid food: a problem with her jaw prevented her from doing so... Flora must absolutely provide her with wet food, but the debt she accumulates to feed all the animals in the shelter often prevents her from doing so...

###
Abandoned with his brother by the roadside, when they were only a few days old, Nero is the only one of the two to have survived so far....

###
Mosu was wandering around a school, suffering from scabies and various parasitic diseases. Threatened to be impounded, he was rescued by Flora, who took him to the shelter. Mosu is an old dog, whose body has already suffered a lot, and who does not tolerate malnutrition well

###
With babesiosis, a parasitic disease that can be fatal, as well as scabies, Sara had been left outside with her puppies.... Flora has managed to heal her but can no longer feed her

8. Flora sacrifices everything for her dogs, but is afraid that it will not be enough

###
More than 70 dogs now rely on Flora to survive

Flora has always been touched by the animal cause, and has been helping abandoned animals in Romania for many years. As a teacher, she divides her life between her professional commitment and her shelter. Her personal life is sacrificed: "All my personal life suffers, I have no time to see anyone, family or friends" she explained.

At this stage, her hope is twofold: that the collection will be successful, and that other animal lovers will see her story and will want to help her

9. The plight of stray dogs in Romania

Flora's shelter is located at Vânători, in the central-eastern part of Romania

10. Thanks to our logistics center in Romania, we can rapidly take action!

Animal Webaction dry food leaving our logistics centre in Romania..

This collection is organized by the association PIA 2010, chaired by Flora. The 2400 kilos of kibble collected will be delivered to Flora to feed the 70 dogs welcomed at the shelter.
