Animal Webaction visited the site 19 December 2019 and confirms the situation described below.

In Macedonia, Viktor has no more kibble to feed the street dogs, they will starve to death!!

The little French association that supports Viktor begs us to intervene.

We went on the spot on December 19th.

More than 50 dogs have to face the cold and hunger in the streets of the city.

Without kibbles, Vitkor can only bring them stale bread, this will not allow them to make it through the winter.

Seriously ill or injured, 39 other dogs have been rescued by Viktor, and are also waiting for kibbles.

We want to help them, by sending 2000 kg of kibbles as a matter of urgency.

100% transparency guaranteed.

1. Viktor has no more kibble to feed the street dogs, they will starve this winter!

###
During our visit on December 19th, Viktor used the last bag of kibbles he had left, 20kg for more than 50 dogs ...

###
"The less food I have, the more I will need to cut of the food for street dogs" explained Viktor, who also fears the spreading of diseases this winter

###
More than 50 street dogs rely on Viktor's help to eat every day...

###
Despite several calls for help on his page, Viktor is now forced to distribute stale bread to stray dogs, because it's all he can buy for them!

###
"Outside start to snow, temperatures are under 0 so many dogs try to find place to hide from the cold" he said at the beginning of December, but winter is just beginning...

December has been very rainy, and the forecast for the coming month indicates that temperatures will drop again: dogs need kibble to keep warm

Every day, Viktor roams the streets to meet the dozens of stray dogs who have nowhere else to go, and to provide them food. It is almost impossible for the street dogs to find food on their own, especially in winter: the food brought by Viktor are the only source of nourishment for about fifty of them....

But his stock of kibbles has been depleted for several days already: when we visited him on November 19th, he had only one last bag of 20kg, an insufficient quantity for more than 50 street dogs. Out of desperation, Viktor brings them stale bread: a food devoid of nutrients that will not allow them to survive this winter!

2. More than 50 stray dogs have to face cold and hunger in the street, they need kibbles!

###
Recently arrived on the street, Jack is already very skinny and extremely scared. Winter's already here, and Jack won't be able to fend for himself if Viktor can no longer help him

###
Born on the street, Bebe is the only survivor of a litter of five puppies... Viktor does his best to ensure his survival, but is helpless without kibble

###
Arrived on the street a few weeks ago, Haski is very thin and has lesions on his skin. Viktor can see his condition is worsening, but he is already overwhelmed, and will not be able to keep him alive if he cannot feed him

###
Zutko suffered a serious urinary infection, which Viktor managed despite the difficulties. Used to life on the streets, Zutko found it difficult to be taken in, and was returned there after his recovery

###
Out on the streets since he was a puppy, Gizmo is about to live one more winter outside...

###
Majka counts on the kibbles brought by Viktor, but remains fearful: Vitkor has been trying to capture her for weeks to have her neutered

3. His cries for help don't work, Viktor is already paying a large part of the expenses out of his own salary, he doesn't know how to get out of it

Today, Viktor alone finances almost 40% of the expenses for the abandoned dogs, a huge sum for him... Already in debt, it's impossible for him to do more!

By himself, Viktor not only takes care of stray dogs, but also of the 39 dogs he rescued in critical conditions, whom he now keeps safe. A very heavy burden to carry for him, who earns only a small income...

Today, Viktor alone finances almost 40% of the expenses, for which he is already in debt. In spite of constant efforts to find new sponsors, donations remain far below the needs he faces.

4. If we don't reach the target, dogs won't receive anything

A failed collection on Animal Webaction

We can take action, we have already reserved a truck and pallets, but we have to pay it before December 24th.

If the collection fails, we won't be able to pay, the departure of the truck will be cancelled and none of the collected kibbles will be delivered .

In case of failure, we will reimburse all donors.

5. Veterinary emergencies have depleted Viktor's resources, and his debts continue to mount

Seriously injured by a bullet, Wendi was discovered paralyzed and in great pain in mid-December. She underwent emergency surgery and is now recovering at Viktor's place, but is likely to remain disabled for life. She cannot go back to the street and needs kibble to survive

Reported to Viktor in critical condition near the highway, Betsy is now recovering at his place. Skeletal, suffering from a parasitic disease, as well as eye and vaginal injuries, Betsy is still extremely fragile

A former street dog, Kate was fed by Viktor for a long time, until he discovered her with a serious leg injury in November. Despite the difficulties already existing, Viktor took her in, Kate was operated on and is now in recovery

Viktor also had to face parvovirosis and its damage since the summer. In spite of medical care, many puppies have successively passed away from the disease, Viktor is now fighting for the survivors

Unable to stand by and watch the animals suffer, Viktor intervenes to rescue those who are too sick or injured to survive on the streets or at the pound. "I've had so many emergencies this month," he told us right away during our exchanges.

Operations, treatment, food, but also rent for those who had to be placed in pension due to lack of space at Viktor's... the costs keep rising. Not to mention the spaying and neutering that Viktor makes a point of maintaining, as they are the only answer to stem the number of street dogs and their suffering.

Viktor manages to overcome his pain, spares neither time nor energy, and agrees to share his bed with a dozen dogs who are far too fragile to live otherwise. But he is powerless in the face of the lack of kibble, and begs us to help him.

6. Too weak to be put back on the street, they also need kibble...

###
As a former street dog, Mili couldn't survive on his own. Skeletal and suffering from a severe mouth infection, he was rescued by Viktor, and cannot be put back outside

###
With a weakened immune system, Lady was unable to survive on the streets after being abandoned. Viktor pays a pension for her to keep her safe, but also needs to provide kibble for her

###
Nana is a street dog who was dropped there unspayed, and is probably gestating by now. Viktor rushed in to have her neutered, we met her at the clinic

###
Wandering near a highway, Patt was in mortal danger at any moment before Viktor intervened... He's currently at the clinic awaiting to be spayed

###
Bella gave birth to a litter while living on the street, but all her puppies eventually passed away. Viktor has made a point of taking care of her ever since...

7. A small French association tries to help Viktor, but its resources are very limited, it cannot buy kibbles!

From France, Linda Renton manages the Woolly Woofters association, to help animals in need around the world "We give of our time, we raise funds to pay for transport, food, treatments, spay" sums up Linda. Most of the funds collected come from the sale of creations made by the members of the association: knitted objects, paintings, and even plants of all kinds.

But the association generates little money, and supports several rescuers, particularly in Macedonia and Bosnia: " We can't cover all of Viktor's costs by all means, we don't cover anywhere near what he needs."

Feeling helpless, Linda is the one who contacted us in the first place to help Viktor: "I just don't know what the answer is in Macedonia. There won't have a shelter big enough to put all the dogs! Many thanks in advance for any help you can give to help the street dogs."

8.  As a committed activist, Viktor is doing everything possible to make the situation of dogs in Macedonia known, but is alone on a daily basis

###

Involved in animal protection since his youth, Viktor has already rescued nearly a thousand of animals into his home, and is making a real difference on the ground. Every day, he seeks to reach a wider audience to raise awareness about the animal cause, but also to obtain a real change in the situation of stray dogs in Macedonia.

Viktor not only feeds and cares for stray dogs, but also spays them and gets them adopted, thus making a significant contribution to the management of stray dogs to overcome a deficient policy across the whole country.

"If I can do this everyday at my young age everyone can help in some way for the stray dogs in form of donating food, money etc. And even transport and fostering. I would be more than happy if you could help by donating to this appeal"

9. In Macedonia, stray dogs are subjected to atrocities, both from the state itself and from local people

A petition launched a few months ago to fight poisoning in Tetovo, a neighbouring town in Macedonia

With an estimated population of 1 million street dogs, Macedonia regularly carries out mass extermination campaigns aimed at "cleaning the streets", at least temporarily. The last nationwide campaign in 2017 was particularly violent and led to numerous protests, including international ones. The most common method remains poisoning, which leads to slow agony (sometimes several days) for the affected dogs.

Beyond national measures, the treatment of dogs on a smaller scale also remains very harsh. Many municipalities practice poisoning on their own initiative, and the inhabitants themselves are often hostile to street dogs. Carried out with impunity, acts of cruelty perpetrated by individuals are numerous (acts of torture, strangulation, wild abandonment, etc.) and unpunished.

10. What will the 2000 kilos of kibble collected be used for?

This collection is organized by the French association Woolly Woofters, for the benefit of dogs fed by Viktor in Macedonia. The 2000 kg of kibble collected will be delivered to Viktor in Macedonia to feed the 100 + dogs he feeds throughout the city and in his care.
