Bolero's teeth are badly damaged, because he only had branches to eat...

1. He was skeletal when we found him!

Bolero is a 22 years-old ex-touring horse. Unfortunately, his owner didn't want to take care of him anymore and no longer fed him. The poor guy was skeletal, he was at least 150 kilos underweight when we picked him up!

2. His teeth are seriously damaged, he can no longer chew...

Since he only ate trunks and branches for lack of food, Bolero's teeth slowly deteriorated.

His teeth are now so worn out that he can no longer eat properly: chewing grass or hay is very difficult for him. At this rate, he won't survive very long.

3. We are missing pellets to make him soups that are essential for his survival

Easier to ingest once reduced to a mush, pellets could allow Bolero to continue feeding despite his teeth problems. Because of his damaged teeth, he is currently sorely lacking in supplements.

4. Rescues keep increasing and we are struggling to cope because of the containment!

Lately, we have been doing even more rescues than usual. Unfortunately, our hay supplier is located 35 km away and we are not sure that we will be able to get food, given the current health crisis.

For the moment, all the horses are in the meadow but there isn't enough grass. They are all starting to run out of feed...
