Animal Webaction cannot be held responsible for any animal deaths caused by the lack of kibble.

1) In Spain, Miguel's 50 dogs will run out of kibble in 4 days, if nobody does anything they will starve to death!

"I normally feed street dogs, but here, with the lock down, the traffic restrictions in Spain are more drastic than in France.

I'm the only one of the volunteers who can go to the shelter to feed and care for the 50 dogs, but also scrub the boxes to keep them clean. I can no longer move around on the outside feeding points as I used to do before .

As I'm alone, I can't take in any more dogs for the moment. My stock of kibble is coming to an end and I have no solution..."

2) Because of the quarantine, Miguel can't get any more kibble: he fears that his dogs will starve...

"A lack of kibble at the shelter would result in disease risks for the weaker dogs, conflicts between them, injuries and therefore more veterinary costs, or even worse: deaths!

The association Celtiques Lévriers et Cie is in the process of emptying its associative account to compensate here and there for the consequences of lock down. It is only a small association without financial aid from the State, Departments or Municipalities."

3) Wounded, skinny and extremely fragile: Tokio will be one of the first to die of hunger if the kibbles were to run out...

"Tokio has just arrived at the shelter but in a pitiful state. Tokio alone illustrates the martyrdom of galgos in Spain!

During Tokio's veterinary visit the next day, we discovered so many traces, old scars, gaping wounds, the worst is certainly her tail and her sphincter. Her small body is emaciated!

Her body reflects hell, full of open wounds and old scars. A tear at the birth of the tail revealed a tear in the annal sphincter. Ticks and fleas lined her body. After a few hours, I managed to get close to her, the food helped a lot. She arrived at the shelter at the end of the day, completely hungry, dehydrated. Without kibble she won't regain her strength...!"

4) The general lock down has isolated Miguel even more: with the closing of the borders, the French association that came to his aid can no longer send him kibbles!

"Today, Celtiques Lévriers et Cie cannot send pallets of kibbles to the shelter as we regularly do according to the collections made in France, because of the coronavirus and the closing of the borders...

In addition to all these accumulated difficulties, no adoption is possible during this confinement, which is an infernal spiral for animal welfare associations. My fight is the protection of the dogs' lives, and these lives do not wait until the end of the virus to need help or to receive care! "

5) Miguel doesn't want to receive any money, only kibble so that his dogs won't starve to death.

"The financial hole is more than ever perceptible because I don't have any help from the municipality of Ecija and the department, the only financial aid comes from a few Spanish donations and mostly from donations from the French association Celtiques Lévriers et Cie.

The rent of the shelter is 600 € / month from which Celtiques Lévriers et Cie pays half, i.e. 300 €. But it is also necessary to pay the important water bills to give water to the dogs. The veterinary expenses are enormous, I have a debt of 5000 € with several veterinarians that I have to pay little by little ...".

6) Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Spain, still active despite the confinement. We can deliver kibbles in an emergency!

Animal Webaction has a logistics platform in Spain, still active despite the confinement, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7) The appeals sent by Miguel and his partner association do not succeed, this action is their last hope!

"Food donations are low because it is impossible to send the donations purchased by Celtiques Lévriers et Cie association to the shelter in Spain.

Bags bought in supermarkets are cheaper than in specialist shops or online stores, but I can't afford to go out and buy them... Donors are afraid of the post-confinement period, so they don't give anymore... The situation is very tense!"

8) Commonly used for hunting, dogs suffer terrible abuses in Spain: Miguel's shelter offers them a second chance!

11) Restrictions related to lockdown did not allow us to visit the shelter for this action

Due to the current health crisis, Spain is currently under lockdown. As the movements are drastically reduced and controlled, it was impossible for us to visit the shelter to organize this action.

However, Animal Webaction has visited Miguel's shelter many times over the last two years, including this winter. We are in close contact with Miguel (who allowed us to prepare this action), and grant him all our trust.
