1) In Romania, Daniela will soon run out of kibble to feed the 450 dogs in her shelter: without food she will have to release them into the street, they won't survive!
"I've always been afraid to ask myself what would happen if we had nothing left to feed the dogs, not even bread, but I think our last resort would be to let the dogs out on the street. I don't know what would happen after that, because living on the street would be the worst thing for them?
The shelter is so overcrowded that we can no longer take in stray dogs... They are living dangerously on the street looking for food. That's what will happen to my 450 dogs if we don't find a quick solution to feed them..."
2) Daniela's 450 dogs have endured the hell of the street: without kibble, they will now go hungry ...
"There was a time when we had nothing to feed the dogs and our bank accounts were completely empty, so we ended up borrowing money. When there was not enough food, the dogs were really nervous and even if we gave them bread, it was a difficult time for them. Even my husband couldn't calm them down when he usually does it so well!
Today we are on the verge of running out of food. We have a few kilos of croquettes from a donation from another association. After this last resort, I don't know what will happen".
3) Daniela can't even afford running water at the shelter, she can't buy kibbles!
"We can't manage on our own anymore because we had to split the dogs in two places. The trip takes an hour and even though there are two of us and my husband is in charge of building and improving the shelters, I am alone with all the daily tasks.
The second shelter doesn't even have running water, this adds a lot of work for us because we have to bring our own water cans daily so that the dogs can drink...
We really need help!"
4) Poor little Băbuța is blind and very fragile, she needs kibble to survive...
"We rescued ̦a from the street four years ago, she was hungry and hairless. She went blind 2 years ago. She needs proper care, such as time with her and a strict diet. If we run out of kibble, she will be in great danger!"
5) The situation is so desperate that the employees of the shelter have resigned: Daniela and her husband are alone, they can no longer buy kibbles!
"Having an employee is really hard. All of them left their jobs soon after they started, even though we offer them good working conditions. It's hard work, we realize that, but the employees are not motivated enough or care enough about the dogs to work so hard..."
6) Daniela is not asking for money, only kibble to save the 450 dogs at the shelter!
"I started doing this when I was a kid. I've always loved animals. My husband followed me in this fight against animal cruelty and we managed to take care of 70 dogs without any outside help.
Then we rescued Gogu and since then something happened inside us and we opened our eyes to all the helpless dogs we found on the streets. We started to organize sterilization campaigns periodically, even twice a year, but people didn't care, continuing to bring dogs to me at the shelter's door..."
