Animal Webaction visited the site 09 May 2020 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Ahmed is worried he soon won't have enough kibble to feed his 59 dogs. If no one does anything, they will starve to death!

"At the moment I have 59 dogs at the shelter, I use 40kg of kibble per day. Under normal conditions, the donations I receive are what allows me to buy kibble to feed my dogs. But ever since the beginning of the pandemic, there are more and more dogs to feed, while the donations have decreased.

I can't stock up, I have to buy kibble weekly, where I live, they are very expensive.

I only have 4 bags of kibble left, it will only last a couple of days. I can't let my dogs starve, they are like my babies. I'm stuck, I need help."

2. The dogs from the shelter are already starting to lose weight, they need kibble!

###

"My dogs are not as in shape as before, they've lost weight. Before the coronavirus crisis, I could give them meat carcasses twice a week in addition to the kibble.

But now I don't have enough donations to buy either. I don't even want to think about what could happen if I don't get help..."

3. Ahmed takes care of 20 street dogs. Without kibble, they will starve too!

###

"The number of stray dogs has increased. With the coronavirus, the dogs that used to live in the city centre can no longer find anything to eat, so they venture further.

I see real misery, I keep moving around to satisfy their needs, but it's too much for me. I can't take them all back to the shelter, otherwise they'll fight. It's too much, it's too much, please help me."

4. Discovered injured during our visit, Roni is totally dependent on Ahmed. Without kibbles, he won't survive!

###

"There is a group of dogs living in a field. The other day, one of them, Roni, was hit by a car. I managed to catch him in extremis and took him to a safe place, away from the sun, the rain, and the other dogs.

He is still very frightened and suspicious, I can barely get near him. He's better now, but he's not completely healed. Without kibble, I don't know what will become of him."

5. Ahmed quit his job to take care of the abandoned dogs. Without any resources and with the slowdown in donations, he can no longer buy kibble!

###

"Before setting up the shelter, I worked in import/export, I had an income. I stopped working to take care of the shelter full time, for the wellbeing of the dogs.

I'm really happy with what I'm doing, but I can't manage on my own anymore. I wish I had someone to help me, but I can't afford it.

I need someone to help me. I can no longer buy kibble for my dogs, I'm extremely worried. If my dogs don't eat, then I don't eat either..."

6. Ahmed isn't asking for money, only kibble to keep his dogs from starving!

###

"It's been two years since I set up the shelter. Before that, I was already feeding dozens of street dogs and cats. I've been doing that for 20 years. People encouraged me to start the shelter and then once the shelter was set up, they completely let me down...

Nobody here likes animals. I don't accept people who throw dogs on the street like that, I can't stand it anymore...

7. If this campaign is successful, Ahmed will not receive any money but 3500 kg of kibble will be delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Morocco

Animal Webaction has a logistics center in Morocco which allows it to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

8. Ahmed has tried multiple appeals for donations, in vain. He's afraid that this campaign might fail too.

"Only Europeans support my shelter, I have no subsidies at all. There have been few donations since the beginning of the pandemic, and I understand, there are people who can no longer work.

But I need someone to help me, I'm totally worried."

9. Actions launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The organizer doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

10. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies . It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many dogs remain starving on the street!
