Animal Webaction visited the site 20 June 2020 and confirms the situation described below.

Animal Webaction cannot be held responsible for dog deaths due to the absence of kibble.

1. In Morocco, Hanane lacks kibble to feed the 170 dogs in her shelter. If no one takes action, they will starve to death!

%%%

"The dogs don't eat enough, many of them have become thinner and weaker due to lack of food.

I ordered 50 bags of dog food at a low price, but it's still a debt that I will have to pay back later . Now this stock is almost finished. I'm also buying rice to mix in with the dog food so that it lasts longer... But the dogs are hungry because it's not enough, they've already lost a lot of weight..."

2. Because of the lack of kibble, dogs are already getting skinnier!

###

"The dogs are already very skinny when I take them in at the shelter, but now, with the quarantine, it's getting worse and worse...

One of the biggest risks of the lack of kibble is disease! As we don't have any money left, we even have a hard time paying for the sterilization and vaccination of the new dogs, so the diseases are likely to spread at the speed of light!

Since they have an empty stomach, they won't survive!"

3. The dogs at the shelter have a painful past, without kibble they won't survive, as for Roxy...

###

"Roxy was found on the street looking for food, the poor guy was in a pitiful state... Now he's suffering from a skin disease, I'm trying to give him injections to help him, but without proper food, it won't help..."

4. Quarantine still works in Morocco: Hanane cannot find any kibbles and nobody can go to the shelter to help her with her daily tasks!

###

"Since March, the volunteers don't help us anymore and people don't give us food like they used to. The minimum living income that people used to have was already very low, now they don't have enough money to donate to us anymore... As a result the animals suffer indirectly...

You can't get leftovers from restaurants either, because they are closed due to the confinement.

This affects me because I work even harder to find food and to clean and take care of the shelter. Even Animal Webaction has had difficulty getting to our shelter because of the containment procedures. We had to justify the visit to get permission!"

5. Hanane doesn't ask for money, only kibble to keep her dogs from starving!

###

"In Morocco, dogs suffer a lot. If a dog attacks a chicken or any other animal belonging to someone, that dog will probably be found dead."

We've done our best to raise awareness about dog abuse. There are a lot of people who have no respect for animals. The government should also help solve this problem and communicate to raise awareness of this issue.

I hope with all my heart that people with a big heart will see the suffering we are going through and help us by participating in the Animal WebAction harvest. You are our only hope!"

6. If this campaign is successful, Hanane will not receive any money but 4000 kg of kibble will be delivered to them from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco, still active despite the confinement, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Hanane carries the shelter at arm's length but with the confinement and the drop in donations, she can no longer buy kibble!

"I'm not able to cover all the expenses on my own because there are too many dogs. People can't donate to all the associations and not many people donate in the first place anyway.

As many people have lost their jobs, they don't help anymore by making donations or anything. If we can no longer pay the rent, the shelter will have to close, which means the dogs will starve.

We still have debts for the kibbles we ordered, we cannot borrow more than we can pay back. It's basically the lack of financial resources that made us refrain from buying kibble..."

8. Actions launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The organizer doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies . It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many dogs remain starving on the street!

If you know of a foundation or NGO that could help Elise, please invite them to contact us so that we can put them in touch.

If you represent an animal protection foundation or NGO, please help Hanane's dogs, contact us and we will put you in touch!

If you want to come to Hanane's shelter to help her or if you want to send her directly some kibbles or a check, contact Hanane via Facebook (note: direct help is under your own responsibility).
