Animal Webaction visited the site 16 July 2020 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Romania, Maria and Ferenc have no more kibble left to feed the 288 dogs in their shelter. If no one intervenes, they will starve!

%%%

"Lack of food is our main concern : dogs are getting sick, aggressive and nervous when they are hungry. We have only 40 kg left at this stage, while 250 kg are needed daily. We're trying to manage day by day...

The shelter is funded from donations, which are only a few right now. We go to the parking lot of a local store and ask for help from the people who shop there, but there is only so much we can get.

We can't keep up with everything, we ask for your help ! "

2. Since the end of lockdown, dogs in need are more numerous than ever. Without kibble, Maria and Ferenc can no longer rescue them.

###

"After the lockdown was over, there has been an increase in the number of dogs to care for. Several dogs were abandoned, and because of the fact that there was traffic again, we've had many cases where dogs were hit by cars. These accidents are a big issue for us because we have to drive 80 km at least to the closest vet.

We receive many calls in regards with accepting new dogs and we are constantly informed about street dogs. We already got to the point where we accept only severe cases at the shelter (puppies, old dogs or dogs which had different accidents) because we cannot cope anymore."

3. Abandoned and seriously injured, Nina is still very weak, she will not survive without kibble.

###

"Nina is approximately 5 or 6 years old. She's been brought to the shelter a week ago, she had had an accident with a heavy agricultural machine. Her four paws were injured, her back leg had to be amputated, she had surgery yesterday.

It is just so sad, we have to help her the best way we can. She is exposed to high risks because of a weakened body, still being under treatment and recovery."

4. Just the two of them, Maria and Ferenc are already depriving themselves of everything for the dogs. They can no longer buy kibble, and don't know how to get by!

###

"We are mentally and physically exhausted due to the huge amount of work needed for maintaining the shelter, and the perpetual stress. We are completely dedicated to the shelter, as we can't afford to have any employees, so we basically have no personal life. We also skip many meals.

We are not able to buy kibble because of lack of money. We are in debt, also to the vet for the surgeries performed. We have a lot of ill dogs, that we couldn't leave behind because they were endangered."

5. Maria and Ferenc are not asking for money, just kibble to keep the dogs from starving.

###

"Everything we do is based on what we feel. We love and respect all dogs and feel extremely sorry for their situation. Our dogs are defenseless and , the only thing they have is us.

We face difficulties, like all shelters. We need support, help of any kind. Without food, we don't have the necessary conditions to take care of such a great number of souls."

6. If this campaign is successful, Maria and Ferenc will not receive any money but 3600 kg of kibble will be delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Romania.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Romania, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Despite multiple calls for help, Maria and Ferenc are unable to get out of this bad patch, they are counting on this campaign.

"We do not have the time to create campaigns for awareness. The donors are local, and they help out with money as much as they can, but the amounts are very low.

Some people who know us offer small donations, within their limits. We are not known by people from other areas and this impacts our ability to acquire more sponsors.

We hope this campaign succeeds."

8. Actions launched on Animal Webaction often fail...

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The organizer doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Romania, it is difficult to find funds for kibbles, there are no aid, no grants, no foundation... Many abandoned dogs die alone in the streets, in complete indifference...

If you know of a foundation or NGO that could help Maria and Ferenc, please invite them to contact us so that we can put them in touch with each other.

If you represent a Foundation or NGO for animal protection, please help Maria and Ferenc's dogs, contact us and we will put you in touch!
