Animal Webaction visited the site 20 July 2020 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Romania, the 200 dogs at Iasmina's shelter will soon run out of kibble. If no one intervenes, these dogs will have to be released on the streets, where they will starve!

"At this stage we only have food left for one week.. after which I will be in the state of panic and depression. I am constantly worried for the future.

If I can't feed them anymore, I might be forced to leave the dogs on the streets. Lack of food will make them fight each other more and will cause even more damage. The older sicker dogs will be the ones who will suffer first, I’m afraid that the sick ones will get worse and ultimately all of them could starve."

2. Affected by several illnesses, Lara is a fragile dog, her health will deteriorate quickly if Iasmina does not find kibble.

###

"Lara was found as a puppy along with her mother and siblings. Since she had health problems that needed constant care along with skin issues, Lara was the only one of them who wasn’t adopted and remained at the shelter.

Lara suffers from serious skin problems,  as well as eye problems. Keeping her in a stable state of health is all about her treatment and food, otherwise she cannot stay on top of it."

3. Over the last few months, the number of dogs at the shelter has doubled, and donations have collapsed: Iasmina is overwhelmed, she can no longer buy kibble.

###

"Ever since the coronavirus pandemic started, I've been extremely worried about the shelter and our dogs. I've had terrible nightmares and I've been constantly thinking about what we’re going to do if we had no food left. We have been blessed to receive a huge help which has allowed us to feed the dogs for several weeks, but we will have no food left in a few days from now.

The pandemic highly influenced donations by making them drop, and even had an impact on the transportation of the dogs to their adoption places. The number of dogs in my shelter has doubled.

I receive too few donations each month, and the shelter's debts get higher and higher. I am no longer able to buy kibbles because of this, especially since I have many dogs that need treatments, and many vet debts already."

4. Iasmina isn't asking for money, only kibbles to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"Taking care of the shelter has highly impacted my personal life. I barely have time for my family – my little girls and husband.

But people are irresponsible with animals, and sadly in our country, many of them don’t see dogs as their family members. They treat them badly and leave them on the streets, they don’t neuter them and don’t take proper care of them. After a lifetime here, I can only feel sadness still seeing so many dogs abandoned.

I am tremendously lucky to have such a supportive family and a few people who make efforts to help, but it is not enough at this stage. It’s understable that people feel more financially pressured and are more worried about their health more than ever. I still hope that those who can help will think about the shelter and all the precious lives here."

5. If this campaign succeeds, Iasmina will not receive any money, but 3000 kg of kibble that will be delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Romania.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Romania, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

6. Iasmina keeps looking for help, but she can't seem to get out of it. She needs this campaign to continue!

"I keep posting on my social media page almost daily asking for donations. People need to be reminded all the time that the dogs ultimately depend on them.

Sadly, I think that some people who would like to help don’t have the means to do so. Other people just don’t care enough in order to donate even 1 euro. That’s the harsh truth.

Honestly, I don’t know how we manage month by month. All I know is sometimes I really don’t know what to do anymore."

7. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail...

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The organizer doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

8. In Romania, it is difficult to find funds for kibbles, there are no aid, no grants, no foundation... Many abandoned dogs die alone in the streets, in complete indifference...

If you know of a foundation or NGO that could help Iasmina, please invite them to contact us so that we can put them in touch with each other.
