1. In Romania, Luminita is out of kibble to feed the 80 puppies at her shelter. If no one takes action, they will starve to death!
"At the moment, there are 134 dogs at the shelter, 80 of which are puppies. I've rescued so many in the past few weeks, from the streets, the forest, the garbage dumps...I'm all for the sterilization of mothers, that's why I fight to catch them all. Unfortunately, some of them are still roaming the streets.
People abandoned even more dogs during the pandemic, partly because they thought their dogs could transmit the disease, partly because they just didn’t want them anymore. This leads us to the situation we're in today...80 puppies to take care of already, and I'm sure there's many more to come. In fact, I've already had 4 rescues in the last few days and I have more scheduled very soon.
The task is daunting to say the least, especially because there is a big lack of money at the moment. With the pandemic, the donations have been very small, almost inexistant, as people lost their jobs. I am in very dire need of food for all these puppies! At the moment, I only have 1 bag left"
2. Several puppies have already died in the last few weeks. Malnourished, they are vulnerable to diseases, many others will succumb without kibble.
"Unfortunately some puppies have died of parvovirus already, we've had 10 deaths in the last few months. I am doing everything I can to prevent it, I am cleaning and disinfecting daily, and if there are other cases that appear I run to the vet straight away.
I really need to be extra careful with the puppies' diet, because if they are undernourished, all the already existing diseases will start becoming even more problematic. Diarrhea is a huge problem for puppies with parvo, and for puppies with worms, which many of them have.
I'm spending huge money on vet bills to save them, between the vaccines, the deworming pills, the parvo tests and the perfusions. And puppy food is even more expensive than the rest. With our budget already completely exhausted, I turn to you for help!"
3. Zeus was left in front of Luminita's shelter in a box, along with his 3 siblings. At only 2.5 months old, he's already in a bad shape and very weakened : he needs food to get better!
"I found Zeus in front of the shelter's doors, he was left there in a box, along with his 3 siblings. Zeus is only 2.5 month old and he arrived with health issues already, he had many worms. He seems to be recovering slowly now with the vaccine, but still has diarrhea, and needs plenty of food to fully recover.
People tend to think they will be adopted more easily because they are puppies, but that is not necessarily true ! At least not here... There's so many puppies, and puppy food is very expensive. Zeus is not "out of the woods" yet, him and his siblings definitely need plenty of food to fully recover."
4. With very few donations and the massive amount of abandonments, Luminita has been very strongly affected by the pandemic. She can no longer afford to buy kibble!
"The pandemic left people with no jobs and they don’t appear to love dogs anyway so donations are scarce. I am missing the necessary money to buy food, that's my number one priority. But of course, all the other problems like the lack of space and enclosures cannot be dealt with either.
The shelter is only built on an area of 600 m2 so I don’t have where to expand. I don’t have enough space for them and the winter is coming.I have no heating and no running water.
With the help of previous donations we were able to have a well and we carry the necessary water inside but the lack of money is what doesn’t allow me to do much more."
5. Luminita isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent her dogs from starving to death!
"I am always here, trying to help and I cannot leave any of them on the streets. I constantly have rescues planned. I cannot understand how people can hurt and abandon these amazing animals, this makes me so sad.
When one of my dogs die, I suffer a lot, I cry a lot. But it's definitely clear that not many people feel the same way as I do."
6. If this campaign succeeds, Luminita will not receive any money but 1800 kg of junior kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Romania.

"I've just been called for yet another case, 5 abandoned dogs in a house where no one lives. I have no more space at the shelter, I don't know what I am going to do.
I take as many as I can because otherwise I know nobody else will, they'd be left to die here in the wild. But people are irresponsible, they abandon their dogs and don't help out with donations, maybe they don't have money or maybe they do not like animals, who knows. It's probably a combination of both. I really need someone to help me with the puppies!"
